Wow, that's great. I always go back and worth on what I think of casings.
How much of your success do you attribute to the straw? Have you had similar results without (same basic recipe)?
A long long time ago I used ShroomGod's Straw tek but since then I haven't touched the stuff.

To be honest, I never had much luck w/ straw by itself, although of course I know others have had great success..
Straw has, however, definitely improved the quality of my tubs. 1) More yield 2) When mixed w coir/gypsum/coffee/verm, adding straw gives a really nice consistency, and is even BETTER with holding moisture, if you can believe it 3) its a great way to "fluff up" a bulk substrate, and prevent it from compacting 4) added nutrients are showing that i get more out of the first flush then without straw, and maybe TWICE the benefits of not using straw on the later flushes
seems to be enough benefits to using straw, enough to keep me using it in at least half of my projects
Straw alone I didnt really like, and it didnt seem worth it - mixed with my normal bulk, its now a must

Your quite the salesman. I'm not looking forward to the finding, purchasing, cutting, pasteurizing part (b/c I'm used to just throwing things in a bucket) but I might have to give this a try. This and the Rezz effect--so many things I want to do and so little time.
Thanks for info!

it used up most of its nutrients on the first flush. it can happen with bulk grows.

did you re-hydrate your substrate after you pulled the first flush?

no, I should have
This was the only bulk tub I havent re-hydrated, and its because the second flush came in so soon.
Should I still try to dunk it, or is it too late?

if you think it can bounce back. if its not too blue and dried out you might give it a try. cant hurt.

Water never hurt anything. mushrooms are 90% water. I put mine out in the rain.

I really don't see why my second pinset isn't growing.
Its got about 100 pins or more, and it seems like it just stalled. The substrate doesnt seem dry at all,but I went aheadand dunked it anyway.
Maybe they are just growing slowly?
The temp is 85F unfortunately So I put a huge bucket of ice water in there (5gal) and have my air purifier/fan/temp control.
Hopefully the tub is just coming along slowly, and everything will be alright
HOW exactly do I drop the temperature in a storage shed that is outside?

could be contaminated. dont let the pins goto waste. pick them before they begin to rot. just make sure they did infact stall.

Will a window A/C do any good in a storage shed?
I don't mind dropping the money at a home improvement store for one, but i have no windows in there.
The stand alone sets were like 300+

window ac will work as long as it can sit on a window... a window ac takes freon, turns it into gas and runs the gas thru the coils which cools down the air going thru the coils. the gas gets up to 150 degrees, so it is then run thru coils on the back of the unit. which need to be outside b/c the gas does the same thing as it did to make the air cold. except this time the outside air cools the gas back down and turns it back into a liquid form. so basically they are designed to require half being inside and half being outside.
