    #1255860 - 01/28/03 03:15 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

hi, i was just wondering whats the minimum temperature i can plant my cubes and pan trops in?

like i'm going to use the method of just taking some dung and some straw, digging a hole, throwing some cakes in, wait.

i want to start as soon as it gets warm enough to be benificial. i'm thinking like 50?

You can check the last post in my journal for contact info.

I would think at least 60-65 F at night. If temps are too low you won't see any colonisation and you have the chance of organisms that grow at lower temps taking over your substrate.

I an planning my first warm weather beds soon also Joshua. What do you think for my neck O'the Woods?I am thinking early May in an insulated(pasturized straw) and covered bed(plastic tent)Might even put down a heat tape to keep the soil warm. I will be using a multispore(GT's and B+) grain spawn germinated @ 75F and only the vigorous spawn will be selected. The spawn is growing now at about 2/3 speed from 85F but is vigorous and healthy.I would prefer to not use any additional heat and hope nature blesses me with a patch which will aclimatize to our region.Any thoughts on this plan?WR
PS cubes are a pain compared to azures and cyans! WR

To old for this place
