The masses. Most people fill their quart jars between 2/3's and 3/4's of the way in order to leave room to properly shake/distribute the grains.

7 quarts for canning food, 10 for spawn jars. Or four half gallons.

Give all the idiots a brand new religion, huh.
Thankfully I am a free thinker who does not follow the masses..

Can see your shoes. lol
You will need to place a canning rack between those jars.

This point has been made already in this thread several times.

Hamloaf...thanks for the tip on the canning rack...I'll try that.

As far as the rest of your post...don't take it so personal man...I even stated "as a general guideline" in another thread similar to this one...maybe I should have said that here too...

By all means do what you want to do...I don't hate nor do I discriminate...nothing but love from me...unless you're of age and live at home and don't get off your ass and take responsibility,or you try and say that you received 3rd degree burns from a PC blowing up and didn't go to the hospital, and then post pics of not even what looks like 1st degree burns but love marks from some chick,or trying to pop a zit lol!

HA!  Im glad Im not the only one that got some enjoyment out of the whole "3rd Degree burns" post.  If those are 3rd degree burns then I get compound fractures and 3 inch deep lacerations every day at work

do you use a 2 canning racks; one on the bottom and one between the 7/3?

Thank you everyone for the advice, I really appreciate it

I just recived my Presto 23 quart pressure cooker and though I havent used it yet seem to think its going to be a great cooker.  However!  On the box it says you can fit 20 pint jars but no matter how many times I try to fit these suposid 20 jars I can only fit 18.  This may seem a bit OCD but I have already done all the calculations and I need exactly 40 jars.  I refuse to pressure cook 4 bloody jars in a 23 quart PC, can someone please help me fit all 20?  Thanks everyone!

Just means your slow

Have no problems breaking my spawn jars up.
A couple of whacks on an unused brick of coir, 12, tops and BOOM.
Broken up grain spawn on WBS.
Been thinking of using the spoon method as to a more gentle way of getting grain spawn out of jars this full so I will only have to shake @ 20-30 percent colonization.
So mycelium will not have to battered twice.

You want to see a video of grain spawn jars that full being broke up?
Fill your next batch of jars that full with your grains and inoculate.
When your grain spawn jars reach 100% colonization.
Record your self breaking up your own grain spawn jars that full.

I am beggining to speculate the whole "mycelium being batter" theory, as the myc seems to perform better in and LC with a magnetic stirRer than it does normally. Does this make sense? I know I'm not a Pro, but I'm pretty adept at this. Just Let me Know LMK!
