Crystal gel throwback - good for water content?
    #12550694 - 05/12/10 06:27 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

Remember that expanding gel that was popular for house plants about 10 years ago? Has anyone ever tried to use these crystals in their casing or substrate to keep an extended high moisture content?

Good question.  I've been wondering the same thing if it would be beneficial in my outdoor patches.

It's been tried a few times, seems to work. Search engine will have more info.
There's certainly room for experimentation.
