Gel like clumping after pcing wbs

Hey guys, first post was hoping someone could provide an answer to my question. After pressure cooking my wbs, I have a gel like substance that makes it clump, I lay my jars on their sides in the pc and it appears that this gel is only on the bottom(the side that was face down while cooking). Any answer to what the reason is for this?

I re strained and rinsed, I even dried them with a hair dryer for a lil bit, I did the spoon test and barely anything stuck to the spoons. The grain doesn't glistening and barely feels moist to the touch

Why did you lay the jars on their side for PC? Wouldn't fit in otherwise?

No they would not its oxymoron but my pc is tiny and I'm forced to do a jar at a time and it is quite time consuming pcing 12 jars one at a time for an hour could I boil the jars in a largest pot with lid, and still be hot enough to kill endospores?

Its tough getting the moisture content right with WBS sometimes. Even if your WBS doesn't turn to mush right away its much more likely to succumb to bacterial infection, contams, and stalling. By the time half of it colonizes the rest will be mush and metabolites I assure you.

Suggestions:
1. Get a bigger PC
2. Really take your time while learning how to prep grains.
3. Soaking is overrated IMO
Read Doc_T's WBS tek or Foo Man's, they're both similar and equally great teks. Eventually, you will get it right. It just might take a few pounds of birdseed.
edit: damn spelling

Almost all of your grains have burst. You simmered or boiled too long. It's that simple. Now start another batch and watch it closer this time. You want to simmer the grains to get them fully hydrated while bursting as few grains as possible. Less than 5%.

Sounds like u missed a rinse step. If i had to guess it was after you simmered. After u simmer it is crucial that you rinse the crap outta your wbs. I have experienced your problem before and more rinsing is your answer. i rinse and strain all of my simmered WBS in small batches. This way all of those metabolites are for sure rinsed away. I use docs tek. peace

Soaked for 10 hrs, and simmer for a half hour till I got the right ratio of exploded kernels. I don't think it is the moisture in the wbs but is it possible that I am getting moisture in from it being on its side, I wasn't using tin foil as a buffer, I think that's where I messed up. I just put a jar in with layers of foul, have too see how it looks in an hour. I think the moisture content of my wbs is perfect
I made sure to rinse very well after I had simmered and I used the 5% rule fore exploded kernels. I followed docs tek

Sorry that I have to burst your bubble man, but your wbs moisture content is far from perfect. All I see in there are exploded grains..

foil on your jars is to protect your polyfill and that's about it. How much water do you have in your PC? Remember it is the steam that sterilizes your grain not the water. You might have to much water in your PC rinse rinse and rinse again. Its tedious

I use just enough water to pc for an hour without using up all the water, it seems they are so much more wet when I take them out.

Looks to me like you might of over boiled them, and at the same time maybe the water content was way too high when PC'ing.....You should try using a bucket next time... Boil water add WBS to bucket, then pour in boiling water, put the lid on and let sit for 20 min....drain rinse, and I spread mine out on plastic tarps(kind for windows) and let dry for about 24 hrs....or 12 if you are usin a fan, but be carefull not to over dry with a fan....you want them moist but not to moist with a soft texture....
