How long does it take for perlite to raise humidity? * 1

I just put 5in of perlite in my shot gun terrarium. The humidity is 70% i misted just now and i have my verm baking for 1/2h. Will the humidity raise in a couple of hours?

Should come up fine if it's drilled correctly. Did you calibrate your hygrometer?

it should go within the first hour.  how big is the tub?  5 inches seems like wayyyy to much perlite.    1 1/2 or 2 inches with about 1/2 of water will be your best bet.  if there is too much water the perlite wont have enough surface space to humidify.  (first hand experience)

to be honest i cheaped out and got the 10 dollar one. i left it sitting for half an hour in my aot and it was at 19C and 70 % hum, now i just dampened perlite put it in the fc and misted and it went up to 80%

The answer is going to depend on your temperatures and existing ambient humidity.  It starts to work right away.  I would let a couple hours pass before measuring humidity based on a perlite setup.

My tub is about Height 2ft, length 2ft, width 1ft its a really deep tub and i got the holes drilled on all six sides, i used 1 bag of perlite it might not be quite 5 inches but i have at least a ft and 1/2 left of clear tub
