Poor man's clean room

What you will need Ruler/Tape measure Stapler/staples Utility knife Cardboard Boxes 3mil plastic Duct tape And whatever you want in your clean room. (desk, gb, light, etc.)
You will need as big of boxes as you can get "I go to Aldi's" and just pick up the empty ones when I go to the store.
Unfold the boxes.
Then you will measure and mark every 2 inches width wise. (to cut longest strips poss.)
The trickiest part is getting the strips perfectly straight, This isn't too important, just do the best you can. Just take the razor and cut in a straight line to get the greatest length you can.
You measure the area you want to cover 1st. Hopefully your strips are long enough, or you going to have to work it out.
I like to start out with cutting a piece of 3mil that will cover both the cieling and a wall. (you could cut one large enough to cover 2 walls and the cieling, but it thinks its more difficult when hanging it up) You will want to cut it longer than your measurements here, because you will be wrapping about 6 inches more around the strip of cardboard.
You then wrap about 6 inches in length around the cardboard strip and staple it along the seem of the of the ceiling and the wall opposite of which you chose to cover. (try to make it as even as possible, it will help when you tape the seams)
Then take another cardboard strip, and staple it over the axis on the wall your covering and the cieling.
Now you have 2 walls left to cover, in the same manner, and an entrance to make.
After you get the wall coverings stapled up, go over all the seems with duct tape, you should not see any cardboard.
If your floor is carpeted you will also want to cover it. For the entrance you will cut out nearly 4x's length of the length of the entrance.
Hang 1 length On the outside.
Hang 2 half widths on either side on the inside of the entrance.
Hang the last length over the 2 half widths. If this doesn't make since to you look at the pics. Or just ask. Entrance:

 Floor:
[/url] Seams: gbox, desk, light

Feel free to add to or edit this in whatever way you feel the need. *Sidenote* If you put your pmp in here you can get immaculate pristine fruits

im not gonna lie im not sure the reasoning behind this. i think that if you employ proper sterile tek and do your work in a glove box, that it would be cheaper and the same effect. tho that only for BFR tek. if you do bulk or open air work, then that would be useful. just my opinion, what do i kno lol

Its more room to work, "if you dont have a flow hood" If you already have one,its probably prettypointless.
It could be used for people who are having problems with such contaminations as, Cobweb or Trich in their FC's. Because their whole house would be contaminated theoretically. This makes a nice and easyplace to eliminate all these, as long as you can be careful not to bring them in.
Which you could always make an attached decontamintaion chamber. Which I have a few Ideas for, however nothing with much substance atm, other than an attached room with low draft.

I thought the idea of a glovebox was to keep particles of you out of the equation, this puts you fully into a glovebox.

Exactly, so go into it after you take a bath, toss on you tyvek if you use it, (I go naked), with hairnet and mask. I have a room attached to it that I can close off and make sure I'm decontaminated. I wouldn't leave my petri dishes laying around outside of the gloves box, but its fine with mixing bulks and grain transfers.
It can also dub as a sauna, take a pressure cooker in there and let out some steam.
This environment is still air, (if you do it right) and gets pretty hot. with a warm pressure cooker and your body heat. So unless you feel like taking a steam bath, let it cool down 1st.
But yes, Make sure you dont bring contams in with you, however you can do that.

The idea of a glove box is still air. They are not sterile, just 100% draft free.

The room only cost me about 7$ to make, considering I had almost everything already.
Ruler/Tape measure maybe 1$? Stapler/staples 10$ / 3$ Utility knife 2$ Cardboard Boxes free 3mil plastic 5$ Duct tape 3$
So at most it would cost 25$, but most of the shit you probably have laying around.
(Prices may vary)

I havent tried it that way, But I would suggest if your going to use nails, make sure they are flat headed, and go in straight, so they wont poke through the seam.
It should work.
Just make sure they are secure.
