Boomers on Bottom? sack o damprid?

My cakes are growing pins on the bottom of them. i have perlite with jar lids.
obviously they're growing on the bottom because it's so close to the perlite and the moister is getting it best there but there is no sunlight or air going through the lid.
-how are pins forming without sunlight and air on it at all..
also dried mushies are in a glass jar. could i take a coffee filter and put damprid in it and tie it in a little sack to make sure there are no moister in the mushies/get rid of the rest.
would it work?
thank youu =]

ya their should be an edit button on the top right of your post.
just make sure that your question is clear.
mushrooms have been known to grow even in neglect.
and for the damprid. just take a container (well sealing) throw some desicant in there and cover that with some screen material and throw the mush in their and close the container

alright.
they were already dried for 24hrs and they're not huge so they were fairly dry and wanted to put them in my actually jar. would the damprid sack work to pull a little moister out?

I usually do something like your Damprid idea. You can never be too safe. I put them in a quart mason jar with a desiccant "teabag" and throw the closed jar in the freezer.

oo. the "teabag" is it an actual bag for tea or something else. could i use the coffee filter. if not i guess i'll leave them in the drying chamber a little longer ever time.

damprid turns to liquid when it absorbs water. i would never put the damprid on top for that reason. i dont like damprid anyway. silica beads and drierite can be regenerated, saving money and trips to the store.

they were fairly dry or completely dry? desiccant is pointless if you don't dry them thoroughly first.
your cakes might be bottom pinning cuz it's dry. It's only a problem if it tips the cake over.

My personal vault, SHABAM!

Box, silica beads, plastic sheet, tinfoil stands. Was hardly "airtight" and they dried out after 3 shifts of half a pack of beads, which is pictured. There are about 1/5 beads that are colorchanging based on hydration, blue for dry, pink for "wet" instructions on the package tell you to bake them for a certain time at a certain temp to dry them or, "reactivate" them.
I honestly still have 1 mushy cracker dry still sitting on the plastic card, never ate him... 2.2g....
I would suggest a VERY similar setup with a snap on lid like tupperware.

You do fan dry them first don't you Chas? I can't imagine wasting my time trying to dry boomers with just desiccant.

yeah, in a small amphibian carrier. dont have a picture of it...
Basically like this, but it was a box, and it set it on its side and had the fan blow into at like a 45 angle... http://peticious.com/images/SKLREP001BK.jpg
harvested around midnight, fanned from say 1am to 10ish when I got up, felt stiff but plyable, put them in with desiccant powder at first, and no improvement after like 8 hours, so I went to the store and found silica beads (cant find a link to my type anywhere), and had cracker fruits in maybe 20 hours
did half a bag of beads at a time so I could have one to transfer to and one baked and put in jars for use later
edited for an afterthought, there could have been about 24 more hours in there somewhere... all i know is this is the way i will do it next time, in larger amount maybe 6 bags, large storage bin
i think its a 2 lb bag for like 3 bucks?

mushrooms, for proper drying, need to be cracker dry. to check for this, pick up a mushroom your drying and bend the stem. if it just bends, then its not ready. if you bend it, and it cracks almost in half, then its ready. hence, "cracker dry"
