You'll never know your being investigated until its too late, Are you saying energy gains is not a red flag? I'm just saying be aware of your energy gains, because it IS a red flag. All long with all the shit that you typed into google that has been captured, and your growlogs, they have enough case to storm your house.

teknix said: its in my own personal opinion, that lighting only helps during the pinning stages, I know a lot of people disagree, but these things usually grow in the shade. Also running those bulbs u guys got on timers is one of the 1st indications of illegal growing activities. thats how people get busted.
That coupled with all the other energy gains that are required for these techs, are noticible. Not just energy, but water as well. So if you havent just moved into the place, and are getting all these increases, its a red flag.
This is crap. You either have to grow a lot of shrooms or pot to get caught like that. When I carry 80lbs of WBS, 60qt tubs, and shop lights into my house its probably more suspicious. Especially since I fucking hate birds.
OP, I can't say whether they grow more in dark or in light. Sometimes it doesn't look like they've grown at all. Sometimes hours later they look inches taller. It seems they definitely have little growth spurts. All I can say is these things do whatever they want and on their own time. Common knowledge though...

I have done side by side.
I found best is 18 hours light, until I see pins. Then 18 hours dark.
After a while I forgot about timers and just turned my lights on, when I was always there. Alot of lights pointing in different places..sometimes when they pinned I didnt turn the light on pointed at them..just the ones pointing at the ones not pinning yet..but the light would spill over and give them what they needed. But I'd keep them in the dark as much as possible if pinning and in light as much as possible (with a little bit of dark) before pins.
Overall though, 12/12 is just easier, and what I do now because I use many many lights (7 CFLs and 3 strip flouros, maybe 300 watts or so total) and all casings are often in different stages. Lacking light before pinset hurt it though IME, so to have 12/12 is better to be sure, if you have many greenhouses.
With all of my lights, 5 humidifiers, 2 dehydrators running most all of the time now..electric went up from 20 bucks to 60 bucks (over the last 3 months slowly, as things were added)...do you really think that 40 dollar increase (like 10-12 bucks a month) is going to cause them to look into you seriously? I mean, a couple a/c's or heaters or any number of kitchen tools (I have a fryalator, slowcooker, microwave, toaster oven, ice cream maker, dehydrators are great for beef jerky too, ect) will take up that much electricity.

There is no security concern here Teknix. You're clueless. People get in trouble by running there mouth and by selling illegal mushrooms. None of us here do stupid stuff like that. ~P~

The energy and water usage is not going to get you busted, my toaster will use more energy making up a few pieces of toast then a CFL or even 4 foot florescent fixture will in a month, as for water the amount used in a month would be equal to having a extra shower or 2, I think you are a little paranoid, as for Google searches and grow logs I don't think that will warrent a warrent, Encrypt you HD and keep your mouth shut

I think it ends up being due to the increased time between "check ups".
During the dark cycle your probably asleep and go several hours without looking. During the light cycle your likely misting or just happen to see them at some point.
I've always noticed they grow "more" at night, a little less while at work during the day, and not at all once I get home and begin misting, turn the light off a little while later (checking them again of course), misting again before bed (gotta look at them again!) They either like messing with people (lol) or its easier to see the difference 10 hours makes compared to 2-3 hours.

I'm glad to see many opinions on this matter. Energy is no concern to me. I'm just focused on the one mono I have producing at the moment, I'm going to give 8/16 a shot. This is how its looking now
, after harvesting this.
