HI everyone
I am a newbie and i dont understand why my cake turned blue just when it started fruiting. Is this normal bruising (even if i did not touch it!!!) or is it contaminated?
thanks

Completely normal.
Mycelium bruises VERY easily when handled or touched. It could be from the cake drying out from the flush as well though.
Either way it's totally fine. Let it finish the flush, then just dunk to rehydrate it.

This looks like bruising. Your cake appears very dry, likely responsible for the bruising.

Regular misting, without oversaturating, is required. After each misting (several times per day), make sure you fan for a few minutes for fresh air exchange (FAE), helping to evaporate some of the moisture from the cake surface. This is one of the major pinning triggers.

Bruising can occasionally darken to a deep, cobalt blue, but I haven't seen purple, per se. It would be helpful if you can post another pic.
