I have just setup new jars using silicone tube with polyfil as a GE method. Well, I ordered the tubing from the internet and under estimated the inner diameter.
For LC and WBS would a 2.6mm(1/9 about) hole stuffed with polyfil be enough, as I could blow through it but not sure if the polyfil is to tight.

I just use 1/4" hole in the lid w/ polyfil, no tubing.

Yes, it should be enough. Just don't pack the polyfil too tightly.

Yes i'm sure you do just use polyfil. But as the subject states I am using silicone tubing.
Thats the thing though, how much is too much. Aslong as I can breath through it should be ok right?

I do this. It really doesn't matter long as you dont pack it too tight.
I like to leave as little as possible hanging down inside the jar and the hole centered in the lid. This makes cleaning a little easier. You don't want to create niches that can get funky over time.

The vent hole size is fine, just be aware that if you make lc lids with a regular injection port, you may have a hard time extracting your lc using a needle. you might want to consider using some catheter tubing (which is autoclavable) for the injection port because it will reach down to the bottom of your lc jar. aspirating the needle through a port at the top of a tube will suck up the lc like a straw. for the vent, you can either buy some synthetic filter discs or just create a regular injection port which you can vent with a needle/syringe stuffed snugly with polyfil. this way you can shake your lc jars vigorously without fear of getting the filer wet.
