I would like to aim for a yield of 2 oz if I can get it. Am i being to ambitious for my first time? Any advice that might help me reach this goal?

Bulk will be your best bet. Also 6 cakes can easily get you 2 oz quick

Bulk is absolutely your best bet. It's not ambitious at all if the scale of your project is up to it.

Cakes of what size will get you 2oz?
From what I've been reading, you can expect 3-5g dry per 1/2pint jar using PF Tek. If that's true, you'll get 1oz from 6 cakes if you're very lucky. I can't say from experience though, as I've just begun the fruiting stages of my first grow. If I could get 2oz from just 6 cakes I'd be very happy!
Edit: After seeing you said bulk is the best bet, perhaps you meant 6 cakes after being spawned using hpoo or something?

What kind of bulk teks are there that would be good? Or can I just go with the PF tek and do a bunch of substrate cakes?

You can get 10+ dry grams at least from a PF cake I average 13+ dry grams all from 1/2 pints. So 6 should yield you over 2 oz

Just to clarify, do you mean 2oz total for 6 cakes(as in multiple flushes), or just from one flush?

In each jar? Or mix one tbsp into the verm/brf/water mix for every five jars?

Ah, that explains it. Typical know-it-all noob. We get a few thousand just like you register here every year. They try a few grows, fail miserably and then after a few months or one bad trip, go back to sniffing glue, never to be seen again.
We have a basic pf tek that's idiot proof enough for noobs to get fucked up with their friends.
Mycologists on the other hand grow for the love of growing. They want to experiment with various species, substrates, and fruiting environments. They'll move on to isolate strains, attempt hybridization, and in general treat cultivation as an artform, rather than a chore that must be performed as a means to an end. They'll work twice as hard for a ten percent gain, just for the love of perfection. These are the ones who will isolate strains, not the dumb fucks who treat mushrooms as a drug, or even worse, a pathogen, as if mushrooms cause disease.

Think species. A cube is a cube. I've heard that PE is more difficult than the rest. Look through sporeworks, and pick a cube strain that appeals to you.
