    #1252618 - 01/27/03 09:58 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Hygrocybe conica (Witches cap)

Amanita sp. I thought it was velosa at first, but, I dout it is.

Red Hygrocybe sp.

Mycena sp. With a red ant on it

A species I am unsure of. It was growing under live oak, in a medow.

Nice pictures. The one with the ant is something one might find in a nature magazine (National Geographic). You can even see what appears to be spider web hanging form the cap to the ground.

Oh no... I have a good idea where this post is going... For some reason a debate about the ethics of hunting (animals) seems to come up about every 6 months in this forum. Weird.

Lets hope I don't have to put the old lockdown on this puppy.

you hate to see dead things?.....do you eat meat or are you one of those fiber kinda people.GET A CLUE.

STEAKS,HAMBURGER,RIBS PORK CHOPS,HAM,BACON SASAGE, POT ROASTS,HOT DOGS,SALAMII,PIZZA,  and just about 90% of everything else we eat in our day is or contains some sort of MEAT OR MEAT BY PRODUCT. how do you think they get this stuff?....politely ask the cow "excuse me, but do you mind shedding a few pounds so i can have dinner?...YOU WONT MISS IT....i prommise.......I DONT THINK SO. .. THEY PUT IT IN A SHUTE IN THE SLAUGHTER HOUSE , TAKE A SUPER SHAVING SHARP 12"-14" BLADE AND CUT IT THROUT JUST BELOW THE ADAMS APPLE EAR TO EAR SO THEY CATCH BOTH JUGGULAR VIENS....SOMETIMES THEY EVEN PLACE A BUCKET UNDER THE ANIMALS NECK TO CATCH THE BLOOD FOR SASSAGE,FERTILIZER,ECT..... you see and eat dead things every day. if you turn on the tv in todays world, most of the time, you see someone with a gun,or someone being mortally wounded, EVEN ON DISCOVERY. our country was built on the backs of sportsmen who had to hunt and kill there food every day.personally, im not a rich person. everything i KILL, i EAT. and yes, all these poor defensless deer were doing is standing there, begging me to put a 55 gr. bullet behind there shoulder, right thru there heart and lungs, so on the inaudible request to go see the big gorgeous stag in the sky, i gave them there wish. they dressed out at about 170 each, and when butchered, they yielded about 100 pounds of lean yummy meat apiece. i could go on and on about this, but i really dont think i need to justify what i do.

death is a part of life .we are # 1 on the food chain. would you have rather someone posted a picture like this, or possibly one of some child with its brains blown out from over seas.....guns have been a part of our society for food and protection since the beginning, when our fore fathers came to this country.

i dont condem you for the things you do and things you say.what gives you the right to judge me and what i do when your obviously incapable of even judging yourselves........food for thought while im eating this lovely animals rib cage slow cooked in the crock pot ,falling off the bone smothered in bullseye BBQ sauce (hot and spicy flavor)

i didnt mean to offend anyone by posting this picture, and believe it or not, I DO respect your opinion, but your in no possition to judge me. the only one qualified to do that is god, and i dont plan on seeing him for a long long time.

No one cares.  Point is, this is the MUSHROOM hunting forum, your post was not pertaining to mushrooms and therefore has no reason to be in here.  Take your ethics of hunting/eating meat babble and deer pics to OTD or somewhere else.  To get back on topic, nice pics yet again angry  .

I dont eat meat.. You can easily avoid it. The meat industry is bad in my eyes. Its also terrible for the environment!!

I dont care if others do, but, for my own sake I dont like to kill things...I dont feel good when I take somethings life away!!
