Was she referring to the docking and castration? I know people get really upset over docking (trimming the tails down real short) sheep, and they have no idea of the horrible things that happen to sheep that don't get docked.

An apelike common ancestor that we share with the other great apes.

If we "Evolved from" chimps (which is an oversimplification of what really happens) then there would be no chimpanzees, logically.

You and your cousin are different people, but similar, correct? You are both descended from your grandparents, although you are not descended from your cousin.

Making sense now?

It sucks I have to give biology and American Government lessons in the pub when usually what I wanna do is talk about drugs.

to the OP; how the fuck do you think humans survived 10,000 years ago?

It wasn't berries and fruits alone(which could have been 80% of total calories consumed), but many evolutionists believe we evolved in the way that we did through our hunting patterns, large consumption of protein, need for communication throughout hunts.

look at this

see those teeth! chimps eat a 99% plant based diet and the 1% that isn't plant based is termites.  If we evolved from them then why do we eat meat based diets for the most part?

we didnt evolve from chimps, each are different different branches of
the evolutionary tree, maybe you should familiarize yourself  with the
work of Jane Goodall, the anthropologist that observed wild chimps
hunting, killing and eating MEAT, not termites, further research shows
that these chimps eat as much as one ton of meat annually, far from a
trivial amount and certainly not a 1% termite diet

All I know is that meat is gross and I'm glad I don't eat it.

There used to be a time when I enjoyed a steak, rare.

Now the thought just turns my stomach.

I feel a lot healthier and happier in my body since going plant-based.  :yinyang:

But hey, if you like to eat steak...I still love you.

people have canine teeth. which are used to eat meat

we have enzymes in our stomachs that serve the specific purpose of digesting proteins and fats found in animal tissue

vitamin b12 is an essential vitamin, yet is only found in animal flesh

significant quantities of iron are found in animal flesh (though also found in some plants, it is VERY hard to get the daily recommendation of iron by eating just plants)

calcium is also very hard to get through a plant only diet

so obviously my body is made for eating meat, and meat is a very necessary part of my diet........ why wouldnt i eat it?

even 'vegan' societies from the past werent actually vegans. back in the day when hindu vegan populations harvested their grain, insects stayed in the grain and they ended up eating them (though not to their knowledge). when these 'vegans' moved to places like england where much more strict food processing laws were in action (and as such, very few bug parts in food), they began to suffer from anemia; caused by the lack of iron intake. obviously even small amounts of animal flesh can make a very big difference in your health

and if youre a vegan because you dont think meat is necessary, yet you live day to day taking tons of supplement pills and foods that have artificially been inoculated with vitamins/minerals so that you dont become extremely frail and ill...... all i can do is laugh.
