so im going to do my first monotub in an 18 gal sterlite tub. I have 5 quarts 3/4 full wbs at like 90% colonization so im getting ready to spawn to my tub.
1) any tips for cutting the plastic? i need to make a viewing port and light inlet in the lid
2) what is the best way to measure where my substrate will be to drill my holes. I know it dosent have to be exact i jst was woundering if anyone had a trick or two.
3) I want to use a whole brick of coir, 1 quart verm, and 1 quart coffee/gypsum combo.. is the ration of spawn to sub ok?
4) I grow in a walk in closet. i have a small high velocity fan that dosent move, i have it positioned well and on a timer seems to provide plenty of FAE for my SGFC. should i assume it will also be sufficient for my mono as well?
5) the plasti bag in the bottom of the tub...do i cut it so it is only one ply in the bottom or keep it so it is two sheets of plastic
6) how do you drain out some of the condesation that builds up inside the tubs along the sides and drips to the bottom?
I appriciate any help I know alot prolly be found by searching and i have done lots.. so much info i feel lost but only on these 6 issues.

Use a utility knife with a new blade. Be careful. Cut on the concrete or something you dont care about.

Invest -> Electric drill + drill bit.
--------------------
Recipe: How a Lokean makes chocolates For a fully enclosed gh with a coolmist piped in, one may find that adding one of these to the opposite end as the intake will seriously help reduce pressure buildup and strain on the poor weak coolmist motor, while also dramatically improving fae without cutting polyfill stuffed slits all over the damn thing. (That looks suspicious )

1. I've used a saber saw, basically a handheld version of a jig saw. Alternately, just cover it with a piece of clear plastic.
2. A tape measure. I put my holes right above where I want the substrate in the mono.
3. Sure. I am not sure how deep your substrate will be but hopefully you worked this out/ eyeballed it well.
4. Probably. It all depends how tight that polyfill is. How many holes total are in your 18g mono?
5. I've always cut bags open and layed them in there.
6. Help reduce condensation on the lid of a mono by drilling a few 1/4" holes in the lid. You can also keep a block under one end of the tub so condensation drains down to one side or corner of the tub. Drill a 1/4" hole or two on the very bottom to drain this water if you deem it necessary.

I would love to watch the beautiful rectangular view port made with you, your drill and bit sir. I myself would invest in a router if you were to go that route.
