Anxiety and OCD problem
    #12502345 - 05/03/10 11:09 PM (13 years, 9 months ago)

Guys im having this problem where ill just stare off in the distance and constantly worry. Whenever an obsessive thought enters my head, i get into this "trance" type state as i try to worry or "Stay in control"

Is this a product of my anxiety? or Early signs of schizophrenia. EVer since my friend went skitzophrenic i cant stop worrying that its gonna happen to me. Ive been diagnosed with OCD and GAD and wonder if a "Deep stare" the kind you get when philosophizing or really high is normal.

Ill be paying attention to something with my eyes focused, then I will retreat into my head and relax my eyes as i worry about whatever is on my mind.

Thoughts?

As i understand it you enter a dissociated state like derealization/depersonalization in order to evade the anxiety and the negative feelings obsessive thoughts cause.

OCD happens when people feel like they have no control over their life.

The repetitive thoughts and actions give them a sense of control.

Unconsciously your mind realizes that you do not exist and have no control whatsoever and is trying to compensate through OCD.

You're not going schizophrenic, you're just having an existential crisis.
