My friend got a Life Sentence for LSD Conspiracy - and he wasn't even caught with any LSD 3

My friend Rudd got caught up in an LSD conspiracy charge a few years back and the US Gov't gave him a life sentence. He was never actually caught with any LSD and was convicted based on the testimony of 11 witnesses (some federal agents).
The case is really a truly sad one - that they would lock anyone up for life for LSD is unthinkable, and I believe only one other person was given this harsh a sentence, William Leonard Pickard.
There used to be a copy of his appeal online, now I can only find a synopsis here; (lots of details) http://ca10.washburnlaw.edu/cases/2006/05/05-5127.htm
I'm posting this to spread awareness of his case.
He's a good guy, but has lost everything. If anyone reading this has time to write him a letter, share some words of kindness or whatever, here is his info -

Maybe you can help me look on line for a lawyer I need to look fast...I am wanting help by looking on line for a lawyer referral service or something I want a lawyer that has dealt with 2241 post-convictions and has dealt with newly discovered evidence motions most likely a 60(b) motion and government misconduct, I need a lawyer that will go against the government and raise some serious shit against the gov. Like where they altered the records and evidence against me and lied to the jury and grand jury to indictment and where the clerk and judge was involved with the misconduct and now where the courts will not adjudicate my issues, by misrepresenting what I have stated as a claim. Repeat all this to the lawyer(s) you can find and explain to them that I want them to raise exactly what I have raised and that I might need some additional freedom of info. filed on my behalf also. That I also have proof of government misconduct where my case is only based on "testimony" and I have proof that the government told the jury through their witnesses testimony that they have no immunity agreements to testify against me. This is an automatic reversal and new trial. Please look on line and call around for me it doesn't matter what state they are in as long as they do federal cases. Get back with me soon.

Walker was indicted in June 2004. His trial was held over six days in April 2005. The government presented eleven witnesses. Four of these were individuals who testified that they had been involved in or had witnessed LSD distribution activities. Specifically, Charles Ledbetter testified that he had purchased LSD from Anthony May over a period of months in spring and summer 2003 and sold it to others. He testified that on August 18, 2003, he sold 95 "hits" of LSD to Special Agent Sean Henry, who was working undercover. Tr. of Jury Trial at 186, R. Vol. III. He also stated that on September 2, 2003, he sold 300 hits to Special Agent Henry, and on September 8, 2003, he sold four vials of liquid LSD, which he had purchased from May, to Special Agent Henry. Ledbetter also described a meeting he set up between May and Special Agent Henry in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on September 25, 2003, which was also attended by Thomas Mullen, whose apartment in Springfield, Missouri, was used "to stash all of the LSD." Id. at 197. Ledbetter stated that he was arrested by Special Agent Henry on October 27, 2003, and subsequently cooperated with the investigation.
Maybe he shouldn't have sold it

wrong on so many levels. There is NO justification for that. Any system that can make an individual that powerless is seriously flawed. My heart goes out to your friend, I hope he can find some peace, or purpose in this situation

Good gods.
How the fuck does anyone get put in prison for life like that? He could have went out and raped a dozen girls and got less jail time. He could have murdered someone in a fit of rage and got less than that.

It was actually crazy, he just kinda disappeared and no one knew what happened, and then about 6 months ago I came across his appeal online doing a random Google search...
I'm not sure if he had a lawyer originally, but his counsel has not been good throughout - I'm sure that has a lot to do with the outcome.
The appeal doesn't lay out everything there was something somewhere about 16,500 hits of liquid, but that is not in the appeal synopsis...I actually do not know exactly what the situation was, but yes I was shocked when I read the appeal the first time too. The sentence at the beginning where it says he is sentenced to life - that was unbelievable. I've sent the info to a few people, but really there could be a lot of his friends and family that do not even know where he is - or what happened.

Wow he didn't rat anyone out so they hit him with life in prison/life enslavement. Fuck this country. Fuck them and their war on Americans doing what should be our choice.
