Coloration on my Peefy cakes

Just birthed my PF Cakes (brf/verm) and popped them in my fruiting chamber. I'm a little worried about this greenish hue on my bottom-left cake here. Here's a pic:

Different pic, same setup, the cake I'm talking about in this pic is on the front right.

After reviewing the literature here, I think this might be indicating dehydration, but it's already given me a mushroom or two. Should I wait until after the first flush to dunk? Is this guy in bad shape? Color's persisted for maybe 3 days, getting worse not better, I think.
Any insight?

I think you are spot on about it being dehydrated. Mycellium tends to do that when it's getting thirsty. Did you dunk them at all right after birthing?

I did not dunk them, except the one that was obviously dunk/rolled on the right there. I would have done it to all of them, but it's my first grow and I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket. Plus, it's pinning a good amount, so I don't want to dunk it quite yet.
What I have been doing is letting some water pool on the top of the cakes to hydrate them a bit, trying to get them through the first flush. Right now, though, I'm just trying to verify that this ain't contam.

Doesn't appear to be a contam to me. I'd be willing to bet a lot that its just thirsty. Once the pins mature, dunk that sucker! It will love you long time!

And you can do that in the mean time.
good luck!
On a side note do you have anything under those cakes or are they just sitting right on the perlite? If you don't have anything under them I would recommend a small square of aluminum foil under each to avoid contams.

dunk em for 12 hours, roll em in verm and see how they do. if they have pins growing you can still dunk them.

The blue is just bruising. I'd go ahead and dunk them now while it's still early. You'll have much better results. Remember mushrooms are about 90% water by weight so they need a lot of water.

You should be using a shotgun chamber, those closed chambers are just a invitation for contams and suck for FAE.

The only reason I haven't gone and shotgunned is that I'm having a hard time maintaining RH with my closed system even now. I'm hovering around 90% and I feel that more holes will only dry things up on the inside. You can't see it from the top shot, but I've got like 3-4" of perlite layer in the bottom (I don't have the cakes on anything cause I was trying to wet them up a bit.. but I'll pop foil under em) instead of the more common 1" or 2", and it's still on the dry side..
I'm going to post another picture of my best pins. My caps are very small, but my stems are thick as hell. I figured if they needed more water, they'd have scrawny stems, but they're beefy. Ideas?

Also, I don't have any used syringes for an injection... any other method to hydrate the cakes besides just dripping water from the top?

Shotgun terrariums provide their own humidity.
The moisture from the wet perlite evaporates into the air causing a slight pressure difference causing this humidified air to slowly rise up and out of the container while sucking in fresh air through the bottom and lower sides.
This creates a constant flow of fresh, humidified air over your cakes/trays.
You mist to replenish the lost moisture and to get the cakes wet. The cakes absorb what they need and the rest evaporates. This wet/dry process is a major pinning trigger.
You fan to provide more fresh air and kick start the evaporation process.

Well, I shotgunned my grow box, and the humidity is still low. I haven't seen it go above 91%. At this point I'm not sure if my perlite is dried out (weird because there's a ton of it) or if my hygrometer is off (it's digital...) or what. My questionable cakes are still bruised, but pumping out new pins. My mushies are maturing at pretty small sizes (about as big as the biggest pin in my pic a few posts ago) with tiny tiny tiny caps.
I'm waiting for the small pins on the one cake I dunk/rolled to develop, because if they're really beefy, then I might go for broke and dunk the rest. If I do that (taking the cakes out of the chamber thusly) I'll re-soak my perlite with some water and h2o2.
Thanks for the help everyone, Spongiform especially. I hear your advice, but I'm just a little squeamish about taking any huge decisive action at once, what with exams going on, and not being able to see my FC for more than 2 minutes at a time twice a day ._.() so we'll see how this all turns out.

Quit stressing about humidity levels. Your hygrometer is probably not even accurate in the first place. If you built the shotgun then you have enough humidity and fresh air exchange for your cakes to grow fruits. Just give them time.

I'll be looking forward to starting my next grow, so that I can get some awesome humidifier/greenhouse/automated setup going on. I'm just trying to work with what I've got now to get the best possible yield from this project. Thanks for all the advice.
prismism, I dig what you're saying. thanks for the chill pill.
more pics to come, my cakes look like they're wakin up.

Unless your digital hygrometer was designed to work in a greenhouse it isn't accurate above 80%. I've only found one that works that isn't prohibitively expensive.
 http://www.amazon.com/Extech-HYGRO-THERMOMETER-REMOTE-SENSOR-Product/dp/B000NI4AQY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1273170691&sr=1-1
That's the one I use. Designed for use in greenhouses/terrariums with 1' or so sensor probe so you can dangle the prob into the terrariums without moving the main unit or exposing it to high humidity.
A cheaper option is to use a $6 analog hygrometer and calibrate it yourself with a wet towel.
