Getting the measurements exactly right (CAKES)
    #1250114 - 01/26/03 11:00 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

im a stupid newbie and my worst subject is math, so i got a question about the measurements of brf and verm in 4oz jars

it says for 1/2 pint you need = 1/2 cup of verm, 1/4 brown rice, and 60 ccs of water

my questions

1. Could i place this all in the mixing bowl, mix it, then place half the mixute in one jar and the other jalf in the other jar, since 4oz is half of 1/2 pint
2. about how much water is 60ccs? i have no measuring tools for CCs, whatever those are
3. whats half of 1/2 cup, half of 1/4 cup? i really suck at math

CCs are also known as cubic centimetres... also known as millilitres (mL).

1/4 cup of water = 57cc of water
(so just use about 1/4 of water for each cake)

...if I am wrong correct me

I'm not sure how much one cc of water weighs but according to my converter
1 cc of water is equal to 15.41963 drops!

I doubt that's much help but I couldn't help but throw that useless tidbit of information in there.  Hopefully someone can get a lil use (or a laugh) from that info!

Peace,

ok got out the physics book for those that aren't fresh with the H.S. physics.

start with the basic: 1 cc(cubic centimeter) = 1 mL

the density of water: 1 gram per cc ( i don't see why weight is really important here) so: 1cc = 1mL = 1g of water

1 fluid ounce = 28 grams = 28 mL

so...
1/4 cups = 2 ounces = 56 mL
1/2 cup = 4ounces = 112 mL
...and so on

From my experience 60cc's is too much water IMO. I use 45cc's to 50 max.
