Would the PF Tek (or a slight variation on it) work for any saprophytic mushroom?

I noticed in the "Let's Grow Mushrooms" video that the three kinds of mushrooms grown--psilocybe cubensis, oyster, and shiitake--are all saprophytes (decomposers, for anyone who's a bit more noob than even I am).
In nature, are all three of these mushrooms primary saprophytes? I'm currently reading Mycelium Running, and I seem to recall that they are. Would it be possible to grow any primary saprophyte in conditions similar to those in a PF jar? What about secondary and tertiary saprophytes? (I can already tell that my interest in mushrooms is going to go far beyond tripping.)
Please, no responses along the lines of, "I have absolutely no idea, but let me consult my ass." My ass is in perfectly fine condition, and can provide its own consultation should I desire it.
Thanks!

The brf tek will work for any primary or secondary decomposer I've ever tried it with. Don't try to grow a mychorrhizal species, but basic decomposers will work. Bear in mind, they're for learning the ropes, not food production. RR

Thanks, RR! By the time I become ambitious enough to try mycorrhizals (which are by far the most fascinating to me, from a biological point of view), I'll probably have enough shiitake and oysters to feed myself for a year.
