I found these little beauties today behind my dads house in rural Indiana.
Is there any thing that I can do with them besides eat them?
Can I get a culture started or is it even worth it?

Clone 'em, then go from there. It's going to be interesting.

Do you think there is any chance that I can try and get a spore print off of one of these?
I'm not sure if the spores have already dropped or are still viable.
I found the method used on this site here to be interesting.

Tissue clone is about 100x better than spores- you have a fruiting substrain for sure.

Step #17 is a little confusing, so is the whole 'mixing grains with potting soil', then innoculating that...

Lol; I know. I guess that is why people shy away from Morel cultivation.
One method I saw involved spawning to the root of a sapling and stressing the sapling in order to coax the mushroom to fruit. That's crazy talk.
Still it would be one kick butt mushie to be able to reproduce.

I'm going to email those people and ask them what the hell #17 means...
and it talks about sterilizing your sub and everything instead of pasteurizing.

Don't bother with the info from the farm. You can get spores by pressing a morel between pieces of glass. It is hard to get a clean cuture from morel tissue, so I recomend spores. CH

Hey that is damn interesting. I will have to try that out.
I already started some clones from tissue using the cardboard cloning tek but who knows how they will turn out.
I will for sure try your method of obtaining spores. I don't know if this is going anywhere but it should be fun to try.
