Yes definatle redo them! If they don't have too much water in them they are probibly conaminated. What kind of tape did you use? Clear packaging tape works well the kind that is about 2 inches wide. Good Luck.

I woudn't redo them. I'd say go ahead and inoculate them. Its up to you though.

Every jar I've ever sterilized didn't have any tape over the holes. I always tape after sterilization. Makes no difference IMO. I rarely ever have contamination problems in my jars.

always cover lids with foil and that won't happen.
weigh your suspect jars & compare weight to a jar done properly before sterilizing.
if it weighs much more, you know water got in & they're ruined.
