I do oppose the Patriot Act (despite it's catchy name) and I have believe most if not all of it will be deemed unconstitutional.
The time is not upon us for the need to storm Washington. I suspect it never will be. The option remains open though as long as we have the 2nd ammendment. I think throwing bullets MUST remain an option as throwing newspapers seems to be highly ineffective.

We're not talking about an act of questionable constitutionality. We're talking about the entire Bill of Rights being squashed.
That being said, imagine what would have to happen, the tyranny of a scale unimaginable to Americans, that would have to be present for the entire Bill of Rights to be made void. Once we got that far, brute force would be the ONLY thing that would bring it back.

I mean no disrespect to GoBlue! but I found that to be extremely witty and funny.
The next time one of my anti-gun friends drags that one out I intend to use it.
No credit will be given to the author though, natch.

What if he used the pen to write letters to 100 of his friends, telling them to bring their swords? Then who would win?

But in this case, the friends wouldn't be allowed to have swords. You have an army of unarmed writers.

Sure. Just like discussion and debate would have won America's freedom.
If India didn't need to resort to violence to achieve independence, then neither did America.

Comparing India's independence with our own is like comparing apples and oranges. We were up against a tyrannical monarchy, at a time when democracy was almost unheard of and England by no means would simply free the American colonies. India protested a democracy's intervention, at a time when the world was concerned about a nuclear war. In fact, India probably would still be ruled by a monarchial Great Britain if we had refused to fight for independence.

At the time of America's war for independence, it was not the dictatorship that you and many others seem to think it was. True, the monarchy was stronger then than it is now, but Parliament had most of the power. Also, the Constitution was based largely on England's model for government, with a few changes of course.

England's Parliament was a gathering of nobles and other such tyrants, obsessed with power.
Here's an example: We complained about the English taxing us without proper representation in Parliament. So the English, rather than let the colonies send over representatives, passed legislation so that we could be taxed without representation.

Oh, I'll keep my guns too. I always figured though that there will always be guns available on the blackmarked. Hell, If it ever came to that point I bet there would be a few contries that would give us guns. Not to mention that (IMHO) most millitary would side with the people. It would end up being the US millitary/citizens vs The US "government"/ United Nations forces.

That's a fact, dude. I know a bunch of people in the military, and I think they're all "one of us".
