Something similar happens with some of my LCs, they get foggy, apparently with contams, and a few weeks later i find that there is normal, healthy micelium growing. I'll have the chance to prove this because i shot up some LC with a syringe I'm 100% sure was contaminated with trich.

You say its getting smaller???
Well that most likely puts trich out of the question. And if thats not trich I would bet it is penicillium.
If it is getting smaller wait and see if its filled in with mushroom mycelium.

Hah I like the idea of those little mycelium just going in and eating the enemy. Kind of cool man, good luck with the jar!

Contaminant spores germinate and grow white mycelium before they sporulate again. Toss that thing out without opening. RR

The mycelium begins fruiting once full colonization takes place - even if there's a competitor mold growing right along side it. Are a handful or fruits worth having mold spores sticking to the walls of your house?

No, it's obviously contaminated. Take it outside and dump into a manure or compost pile. Don't open it indoors. Mushrooms fruit in the presence of molds all the time in nature. RR

RogerRabbit is wise and all knowing....if he says toss the jar. I'd listen! Those mushies will either infect your growing room or will become unsafe to eat!
