After looking it up on google...that thing doesnt actually detect mold. Just conditions that grow mold. Like high humidity. No good at all for this.

do you have a mold problem or just trying to keep an eye on it around your fruits?

Companies that do mold removal/cleanup will do an air quality check.  Basically they stir up the air and then run it through a filter then look at a piece of that filter under a microscope to look for spores.

There's also devices that can check for the number of particles in the air but this will also count dust, pollen and whatnot too.  But it's useful to see if your flowhood is operating properly.

Starting in the low low 2000's! :-D

well, mold is always a problem, it goes with the territory.
given the low price, i thought it would make a decent tool for us.
but if it doesnt measure the actual mold, its useless.

Something that measures temperature andhumidity is useless to us?

Ummmm. No.

That said, it sounds like it's just an expensive combination of a thermometer and a humidity gauge. Not worth it

no, something that is supposed to measure mold (it says its a mold detector) that doesnt is useless, though i should have said 'at detecting mold'.
anyway when i get one (a hygrometer, that is) it will be analog, everyone seems to agree they are superior.

useless = without use.

Not trying to break balls but if this were cheaper it'd be a very nice tool for our hobby, I just thought it was kinda odd to hear it called useless.

Useless to detect mold, fair enough

Digital Hygrometer is pretty useless for our hobby. And considering most digital hygrometers are junk at high humidity, how well do you think one thats designed to help you keep the humidity low, by alarming you when the humidity is high will work?

So yeah..he had it right..useless for our hobby. Even if you like digital, there are cheaper options, which IMO makes it even more useless. I have little use for wasting my money.
