Straw question.. HELP!

My friend crumbled up some brf cakes over pasteurized straw and followed shroomgod's straw tek. He covered the sterilite container with a lid after he had placed the plastic over the straw. He made the sterilite container airtight. all of this was done 2 days ago. He noticed a pungent odor when he opened the container today, but he saw no contamination. The odor wasn't offensive, and after the air circulated, it smelled like shroom 'n straw. Is it contamed, is he just not allowing enough air exchange, or is he paranoid?

In my associates one attempt at growing on straw, he also experienced this problem. After a few days green did begin to grow. He sprayed heavily with h202 and hoped for the best. Unfortuanatly he went out of town for 2 weeks and came back to such a heavily contaminated container that he dare not even open it, just thru it in the dumpster.

I would say, give it time.
