yes, you can put it in a jar, but you may want to try something bigger, like a bowl or bucket. Fruiting it indoors would require a spell in the freezer, followed by the terrarium. UTSE and you will find out all about it

Is it possible to just put it in a jar and preserve it w/ woodchips? If I were to do this, how would I induce fruiting? Thanks for any advice in advance

Forecast for NE OH says 70's/50's (high/low) for Tues through Thurs of this week...and it's raining right now. Don't know if this applies to your area...Just a heads up.

Alright guys, got me a bucket, and went to my patch! Dug out some of the good mycelium.....
Filled 1/3 of a 3 gallon bucket with fresh woodchips, then put all that mycelium on top. Topped that off with another layer of fresh woodchips, lightly watered, placed it out on my deck in the shade. I got new mycelium growing already!!! Gonna have to add more chips. Im gonna let the bucket eat up all Summer, then make some beds here on my property for this Fall, and next Spring!
So, Im stoked. I hope Im doing everything right, Im trying anyways!
BTW..ICELANDIC, we have the same forecast here, and we've had a few days of some rain, but its aweful hot in the day, way too dry down here bro. I think SE OHio's season is pretty well over, its hot, humid, and terrible here! (Marietta, Williamstown area). Thanks for the heads up though! Maybe Ill drive up north....lol, wanna get togehter? lol!!!!

We're getting rain tonite, and tomorrow. Then we're set for about 4 days of 70's with lows of 50's, do you think this might be good? Im pretty sure Im bound NOT to find one in the wild, lol, but it doesnt stop me from getting out there and looking. It's fun to just to be out in nature, maybe one day Ill get lucky...lol. My buddy turned me onto this patch a little too late in the year, but hopefully my bucket project takes off well, then I can share the wealth with everyone!

The fall season is off to a start here in Pennsylvania.Checked one of the smaller spots i frequent and found a few handfuls,
Sorry for the lack of pics but my camera batteries died after a few flashes. The cold and wet weather in the not so far future should bring things back into full swing for another month or two

I've been out looking, found nothing but Galerinas. How long does it take for them to grow after a rain?

Creeks maybe, but id stay away from ponds.Check wood mulched areas along creeks and rivers. All of my finds are along rivers.I would also check the next day after it rains, they grow fast.

It's been raining here for like a week straight, and getting colder and colder by the day. Let's see what we can find, shall we?
