Hi. I am interested in this too. I just had my first flush and encountered a similar thing. I had wet spots in some jars as well.

The mushrooms should be dried 100% just to be safe. Spore prints are safe too.
When you say "wetspot" are you referring to a brown slimy spot such as when an apple starts to rot? This is Bacillus wetspot.
Or did you just have extra water? Anyhow, enjoy!

bdk That box of aluminum foil looks so photo-shopped :shrugs: Nice results though.
mainratte - Perhaps the orange drop was a metabolic excretion. This seems most likely given the description. The Agar was lacking a vinegar or cider odor correct? The odor would indicate bacteria.

How do you know it's wet spot?? Myc. piss can show up in many different colors and not always lead to a contamination..I've had WBS jars show pockets of yellow orange fluids before spawning I just rinse the cake with a little H2O give it a quick dip in a very diluted solution of H2O and H2O2 and then break it up into my bulk Sub. never seem to have any problems?? ...E

Yes most likely it was metabolites. Bacteria generally has a bad smell.
