Why do you bitch about Amerikkka?

Sure, fine, there's plenty to bitch about as far as America is concerned, but why don't any of you people ever bitch about Hussein, or Jiang, or The KIM Dynasty's habit of living almost entirely off fo international aid while spending all of it's money on it's rather massive military.

What about Tienenmen Square, or Fallun Gong, or all the kurds massacred by Iraq.

Korea's practice of torture makes Israel actually look like a nation who believes in God.

If all American military action in the Middle East is about oil, what were we doing in Yugoslovia; protecting the crappy car industry?

Who gives them most of their aid? and why? We do!!! because it keeps the black flowing. Don't like what's happening with the money don't give it period.

Not saying that America is the worst of the worst, maybe it is, I'm not CIA so I wouldn't really know. There are horrible problems in horrible countries, but at least their agnda's are clear, while America is pretty well buried in sheep's clothing. It's not ALWAYS about oil, just this particular time it happens to be. We use our power to nose in and police everyone else, this time it made the perfect excuse to get us into the Mid. East so we could get at that wonderful Caspian oil, and Iraqi oil at the same time. These two areas make up about 40% of the worlds oil reserves if im not mistaken. At the same time we get to bring "democracy" to these countries with a president that we choose for the people. 1 down 2 to go, I got a G that says after we finish off Iraq, we find a reason to hit Saudi Arabia next. Sad really...

Picking on the US happens because nearly every one here lives there, or in Canada. I don't criticize our countries policies because I hate our country, or because I like to complain. To answer your first question, if I lived in Iraq I would probably be bitching about Saddam Hussein. If the US came and put a great humanitarian leader into his place, I would be grateful. If they came in, took Saddam out of power, and installed come other nut that would hook them up with oil I would be very skeptical of why the US came there in the first place.

Why would I go to a major US population center. If I did that I WOULD be in poverty.

We should be spending some of that gubment money on relocation programs.

Where do you live?

It's a day trip from England to Italy, or France to the Netherlands, and just about anybody over there can "see the world", but how the hell is the average American supposed to travel, we've got these huge oceans between us and everybody else.

We do see other people's viewpoint, we just act according to ours, which is somewhat influenced by others. Maybe we're not the isolated ones.

I don't think anybody else has any more "perspective" than we do.

My question is...
If there were no America would the world be a better place?
Or would you all be speaking German and Japanese now?
Where would all the massive amounts of charity come from.

If the EU would get off its ass they have everything they need to rival America economically and militarily.

I don't blame anyone from another country for disliking America. It is the natural reaction of subordinates. That is to say that we are the last supper-power and the rest of the world is going to resent us.

Also check out this global trend report. Particularly the energy section. Now if that is true isn't it a waste of our time if our primary goal in Iraq is oil? Read the whole thing. It is pretty interesting... predicted trends through the year 2015.

Actually, Baby Hitler, if you visit SE Asia you will see plenty of Canadians, Germans, Brits, Dutch, etc., and some Americans, but not nearly as many. Same thing goes for the South Pacific, and South America. I agree with Thor that we Americans would benefit from getting out a bit.

Hey that is the problem, but many Americans don't really give much thought to going to Europe.. America provides all kinds of great travel destinations, so they are less inclined to travel abroad. This is a problem IMO.

So you think all American media is looking at events in many perscpectives? That you understand the big picture of a story from both sides?

America is quite isolated in a sense, with media especially. When I was living in Iceland I had the US perspective CNN, the British perspective BBC, local Icelandic news, and of course if I could understand German we also had a German TV station.

I don't agree, I also include Canada in this opinion of mine since there is a big media bias from our side of the world.

See in Europe there are so many cultures, languages, and countries in one area.. Those countries can't help but get a lot more perscpective by being there.

But I find in traveling you get the best perspective on the world... You see other countries, how they live, what they value, etc.. Gives you better understanding and insight into how this world is.

CNN can't give you that.

I think your info on DU is exaggerated. DU contamination we left behind is no worse than lead left over from lead bullets. DU does produce enough of an electromagnetic signal to make it easy to find with cheap equipment. Somebody should go pick it up. (Bare hands are fine.)

A British scientist says the Americans' use of depleted uranium weapons in the war with Serbia is likely to cause 10,000 extra deaths from cancer.

Those claims deserve attention, and should not be ignored, but probably shouldn't be percieved as good science. A healthy dose of skepticism should also be given to studies that show the threat to be minimal.

Most of the research that seems to have been done has been on risks to troops (presumably ours) when saftey is under maximum controll, and exposeure is more brief and limited than would be with natives who have to live in it for years after.

I wouldn't put it past Saddam, or any other insane dictator to "weaponize" the material, use it on their own people, and blame it on America.
