caerilupes in Tennessee?
    #1242134 - 01/23/03 08:13 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

Hello everyone, this is my first post although I've been reading the forums and coming to this site for about a year. I live in middle Tennesse and have been hunting mushrooms around here for about two years. I have found and identified scores of mushrooms here but my goal is to find psilocybe caerilupes. I have many good field guides and will continue my hunting in the spring. My question to all you hunters is have there been any findings of said mushroom in this area? I have searched many times for cubes but have found nothing more than some inocybes and inactive panaleous. It seems that there are no cubensis in TN.........apart from those cultivated. Oh yea, dont let the name scare ya, Im not a cop; just an amateur mycologist with a special love for psilocybin.!

I've seen someone post pictures of a Ps. caerilupes find one time in the year and a half that I've been here... It's a very elusive mushroom as far as I'm concerned. Not found often at all.
