after u prop it up in the air u can put a trash bag down with a towel ontop to absorb the extra liquid and then remove the bag and towel after. but the more perlite for moisture and propped up for air flow on all sides. u should be good. when i think my perlites drying out i put the whole bin in tub and soak then put new cakes in to start fresh moisture all over again. but if its drying out and u got cakes in there i pour cups of water threw the perlite and have the towel and trash bag catch extra and keep pouring cups of water threw till i think its soaked enough.take care... the ROOKIE.
