casing vs. cake

i currently have 2 cakes about covered with mycelium. each is a 1/2 pint. would there be a noticible difference between casing the jars and leaving them as a cake? would there be a great difference in the yeild? ive read that each cake produces about 3-7 dried grams per flush. whats the avarage yeild for casings?

From a 2 cake casing, you can expect 8g+ and up to double(or so I hear...) the yield for the cakes fruited as cakes.

is perlite a good way to keep the casing humid? should i just put in less perlite and less water to keep the rh at around 90 after the mycelium has completely covered the cakes? is 100 percent rh fine for when the mycelium has not completely covered the casing? thanks
