Ryan Geiss', Geiss plugin was my favorite for quite sometime years ago... then I graduated to O'Meara's G-Force which I used and enjoyed for years... finally coming to try out Ryan's newer plugin, Milkdrop - and I'd have to say the new Milkdrop offers absolutely stunning visuals to accompany your favorite tunes.

I know I'm just reiterating what people have said, but these are the three best winamp plug-ins ever, imho.

Click here to download Geiss, G-Force, or Milkdrop, amongst many others

Yep those three are great, your right.

Have you checked out acidspunk? I suggest you do. It's not as good as milkdrop....but depending on my state of mind and just how I'm feeling in general, I like acidspunk more than geiss sometimes. More colors, and has a much more 'fluidness' to it I feel. Feels a little more random.

Geiss is still kickass. My computer I use currently can't run milkdrop, so I use geiss and acidspunk a lot. Should check it out sometime and let me know what you think. I read somewhere it's used at a lot of 'shows'(I dunno what you'd call them. dj music and such) on a big projection screen.

Milkdrop is definately the best. One time a few of my buddies were on a really high dose of DXM. I put on some tunes and turned on milkdrop. One buddy found it so intense and mind-blowing that he fell down and passed out for a few minutes.

there is another that is very mushroom inspired, it's called "Smoke" i believe.

Smoke is very phat.

no no no no you guys are missing out on the best one EVER!!!

Whitecap!

HOWEVER - make sure you don't leave the settings at default. You can toy with the settings so that it never stays on a certain setting, and instead is always morphing in between two different ones.. this opens up endless possibilities, and finding out which transitions are the best is kinda cool - you can even write a script that would last a whole cd..... send me a PM if you actually care and need assistance getting rid of those gay default settings and setting up the REAL whitecap.

edit: btw its at www.55ware.com

Strumpling, have you used milkdrop(i assume you have)?

It doesn't have even 'one setting'. It is always completely random generated visualizations. You can never get the same image once(well not very often anyway). I still say it's the best

but...I haven't tried whitecap either. I can't run milkdrop on my current computer...but what does it take to run whitecap?

agreed, whitecap is fantastic.

i think it also runs better on slower computers (windowed) but fullscreen is always the best.

Whitecap and Acidspunk II are both good plugins, but they lack the smooth graphics that I enjoy from the Milkdrop and Geiss plugins I'd mentioned before. G-Force is comparable to those two in my opinion - but I stand by Geiss' creations.
Smoke is good, but I enjoy the variety that his other two offer.

If you have a decent gfx card, I'd also recommend checkin' out the R2 vis Plugin - though it lacks the variety of others, it's quite appealing graphically. Climax is also interesting though it lags between pattern changes.

Unfortunately, Winamp visuals suck.

I recently got a new computer and had Winamp downloaded on it (I used Sonique on my old comp) and from reading this thread I realized I had no cool visuals. I went to download the ones listed above, and I was quite dissapointed.

If you REALLY want great visuals you have to use Sonique and not Winamp. After seeing the crappiness of Winamp visuals, I deleted winamp and downloaded Sonique again. Now I'm once again enjoying the BEST visual I have EVER seen - Rabbit Hole.

Once again, let me repeat, FUCK WINAMP. If you really want the best player, and visual displayer, www.sonique.com. And then download the rabbit hole plug in. You will not be dissapointed. :P
