I have read alot of stories in this forum, and it seems like most people who get busted were: a. Selling b. Involved in some other illegal activity c. Told too many people what they were doing But when i read alot of the stories, it sounds like an agency sought them out without reason?
Im a casual grower of everything from Azures to Oysters. Is the risk more than I have estimated? I dont sell, or advertise...What are your thoughts?

That doesn't make any sense. If they were doing any of these things
"a. Selling b. Involved in some other illegal activity c. Told too many people what they were doing"
they weren't sought out for no reason. Someone snitched.
Fiddy. What up?

Well you've already made mistakes. You've just confessed to multiple crimes. Never ever admit to anything. Anything you say can be used against you. If they link your posts here to you, easy enough to do and you get into legal trouble this will be seen as a confession.
Honestly, there is near zero risk of being caught growing illegal items as long as you use common sense.
* Don't tell anyone. The one's most likely to get you busted are girlfriends (they come and go and tend to be out for revenge when they do go),friends and family and in that order.
* Never grow or leave anything around that can be said to be paraphernalia this means keep items where they belong or out of sight. Empty mason jars in your kitchen is normal. Empty mason jars in your bedroom isnt. Wild bird seed in your garage or closet is normal, in your bedroom isnt. Be discreet and use locked cabinets or other hidden methods when growing as much as possible. The plain sight rule will bite you in the ass when you least expect it if you dont.
* Never sell. This goes back don't tell anyone.
In order to get busted you either have to have something in plain view where a cop or someone can see or someone else has to know and rat you out.
Many people simply get busted because cops show up at the door at bad times and they have things laying out or around. The biggest reason people get busted this way is on domestic calls (loud noise, arguments, violence) and on mistaken 911 calls and then the cops show up and people will have stuff laying around out in the open and they invite the cops in and then theyre screwed.
Never let a cop in. Never ever give them permission to enter your house and never ever consent to a search. Never tell them anything. Always lawyer up immediately if they try to charge you with anything.
Number one rule, keep your mouth SHUT. lol So many people wouldve been fine if they followed this or the other simple rules.
If you rent or co-inhabit the house with others, all the more reason to conceal grows well. Large art supply cabinets with locking doors are nice and can be easily modified and arent suspicious.
