How to learn something new: Pre-internet: ask your friends. If they don't know, see if you have a book on it. If you don't have a book on it, go to the library, get 20 books and scour through the index hoping each key word will lead you to something relative. When you can't find it in any books, try another library or a book store. If you still cant find it, just wait for the internet to be invented
Today: Google it.
This ease of attaining information gives us more time to do whatever it was that we needed the information for, and multiplies our productivity

Having access to information is only one component of scientific and technological "progress". It's what you DO with it that actually matters. You can have access to all the information in the world. If you cannot synthesize it,analyze it, and do something useful with it, it's pointless.
And technology doesn't necessarily increase productivity.
How many hours a day do you spend on the internet? Think of ALL the time you spend on facebook, posting on shroomery, looking at retarded youtube videos, sorting through email spam, downloading music, porn etc.
It's probably a shit-load more than you even realize. Older generations didn't have such luxuries. They actually WORKED.

I have known myself in a way I doubt I would have ever occurred except as it did. Smith, P. Bull. Your argument makes no fucking sense. You think that everyone before 1990 does not know what Google is?
What is this information from google that we need so badly to get jobs?

It's what you DO with it that actually matters.
As can be seen Angry Phil has ignored this every time I've brought it up. If humans cannot be emotionally/psychologically healthy this great new and different world won't happen and there isn't any evidence that we are improving in these areas as a whole. That is why his position is a big fat FAIL imo.
Like I've stated, each new generation says exactly what he's stating and offering their fantastic reason why they are different than all the generations before them. But it never pans out and I don't see a rats ass chance it will this time.
Ever see the movie Brazil directed by Terry Gilliam? IMO this is the world we are moving into. And it's going to be very ugly imo.

It really doesn't matter how you feel about it because you'll be full of worms or shitting your diaper while my generation is living through its glorious age. I hope you got plenty of enjoyment out of your time period though. I thank your generation for its ideas and I'm sorry you didn't get to put them into action like we will.
As for psychelogical health, Buddhism will be revealed as the best method of attaining happiness and the wise among us will recognize this. Our growing knowledge and tolerance for drugs will allow currently illegal substances like mdma, LSD, and weed to be used responsibility to increase our sense of well being.

Get off your high horse.
You're probably 18 years old and have no goddamn clue as to what you are saying right now. Do you think that your glorious generation is going to somehow parallel the height of the roman empire?
You have no idea what knowledge/wisdom truly is. Try telling the bush people in Africa that they are missing out on the golden age of mankind in America and they will probably laugh at you while drinking a red stripe.

This is a bunch of youthful folly. You got nothing to back anything you say while I've got a history lesson you can't stomach. It's just the self important ramblings of a teenager imo.

It is good that you will die believing that every other generation will experience great disappointment like you did. And I don't care to convince you otherwise

It's good that history, logic and reason is wasted on you and you inevitably make the exact same mistakes your predecessors did.

You are like someone who, several decades ago, would have told everyone working on a flying machine that, since all the other attempts failed, this one will fail as well. You would be correct every time until you met the Wright brothers. Then, despite your use of historical evidence and reasoning, you would the wrong. The wright brothers found the right formula to make the previously failed, and seemingly impossible, a reality. Eventually someone will find the right formula to make great change happen.
