Update: Tuesday May 11 10 New 2L, done up better this time, plastic bagging surrounding the casing so I have excellent top-side pinning and I can only hope that this produces some monsters

Yes birth it, the pins will make it. If necessary cut off the uncolonized parts.

No uncolonized parts, far as I can tell...it took a long time for the one little spot that colonized, to wrap around, but I'm certain it's done, I just figured I had to give it the week extra to consolidate, but it seems this shit doesn't want to wait...
So would taking a 2L bottle and putting wet perl in the bottom, them re-top it work as a descent fruiting chamber? I was gonna put a bunch of holes in it, then hook up the opening to my cool mist for a light misting a couple times a day...

Yes, it works. Be sure to have sufficient holes in order to provide the right amount of FAE GL my friend

How's it looking so far? Again, never done cakes, so I'm wondering if the myc should be so fluffy around the bottom(what used to be verm barrier)?

i cant tell in the pick but im geussin you dont have it sitting on foil, the cake is right on the perlite.
i gonna guess the mycelium is growin faster on the bottom since it is closer to the moisture of the perlite.
im a noob so dont quote me. nice cake though man GL

Nope, I've got tin-foil there, I simply put a bit of extra verm around the cake to up the amount of evaporation in the area around it, but it seems that moisture is building up under there too, because I flipped the cake over and the bottom looks like this:

It's alright. Nothing you should worry about, it's just myc growth. Verm on the bottom is ok. I always double end my cakes.

I figured...my concern was just whether or not the environment was effecting the way the myc was forming...cause I don't see any other pin formations yet cept a tiny one just beside the main cluster

What kind of environment are you talking about? The soda bottle? I don't think so. Your fruits look healthy. Let them mature, I am sure you will have a good 2nd flush.

No, I'm using my 6 Gal FC, with humidifier attached, hydroton/redrock on the bottom and quart inch holes every 2 inches...turn the humidifier on full blast a few times a day and they definitely get enough FAE.
These are the pre-pins, grown to full...I hope you're right about the 2nd flush, bro

Shit, sorry.

Started out as this...

Somehow, became THIS!

One jar of WBS, that was colonized from one single grain, taken from a seriously old jar of Aussies, floated in a LC for a few weeks, colonized and mixed with coir, coffee and verm...cased or rez'd or whatever with some verm and fruited in my humidified FC. I don't know how much bigger that big one can get, because it's broken open, but I think it could be huge! Can't wait to see the second flush

In the 3rd picture, the one that looks like an ass, is actually a mushroom, with a little mushroom growing off the same cap...it's fuckin cool looking but couldn't get the right angle on it

The first three are the other side of the bottle and that weird little tri-mush, sticking out of the side of the big guy.
The other ones are: A quart BRF, that actually finished up and is now pinning invitro...gonna break him free and dunk and roll and I think there will be some monsters off of it. AND A rye jar, that is only in exsistance, because of that transfer process of one single colonized grain, old as shit, into an LC and then into this jar...somehow it's still alive and thriving and I'll see if I can get another 2L out of it
