a very strangley worded post... try reading some faq's. Any time your shooting for colonization you want to be incubating.

If you want it to colonize put it in your incubator. If you want it to fruit put it in you fruiting chamber(terrarium).

the questions are not necessarily dumb but your wording is very confusing. let's get some defnitions down. Incubator - the area which you should be keeping aroung 86 degrees in which you put your substrate after inoculating it. Terrarium - an area of lower temperature ~70-75 degrees that has a high humidity ~95% for cakes and ~80-85% for casings. it really helps if you are very specific about what substrates you are growing on. what strain you are growing. what container (size, dimensions, material) you are growing in and at what stage of growth you are currently at. care to start over?

an example of what I'm getting at is Raekwon's Low yeild post, take a look at that.

why are you telling me to read it (please, people, pay attention to who you are replying to) also, IIRC PF doesn't say much at all about casings (double-ended only)which seem to be what this question concerns (Juno, READ IT ANYWAY).

Are you saying that your gonna use a 2 quart casserole dish instead of jars?
You need to Express yourself a little better.

If you haven't started yet....Do the PF BRF cakes.

You don't need an incubator...but using one helps colonize the jars faster.
Your sock drawer would work...but I doubt it's 84 degrees F in there.
Lower temps will mean longer colonization times.
