Theres nothing turbulent about the air exiting the tub. Depending on your pump, the force should be steady. I actually use 2 pumps. And in regards to putting the petri dish inside. There will be way too much water pooling inside of the petri dish to make it a fair experiment. As this is a fruiting chamber, that I feel is grossly underestimated.

Air entering the chamber though the perlite(that is not always 100% level) and water, around the cakes does not make it a nice steady non turbulent air flow that will cause the impossibility of mold from entering the chamber. If your chamber is getting so wet that water is retaining on the cakes and dripping back on the cakes then you need alot more FAE ALOT ALOT MORE and obviously the pump is not going to do that alone.
Cakes benefit from getting wet and then drying out/evaporating

Actually, the air enters into the water that has a small amount of h202 in it. then it proceeds through the perlight with is floating on top of the water.

Adding h2o2 wont do anything it will quickly revert back into h2o. Also no matter the order of how the air enters the bottom of the PMp is still is not a fool proof way of keeping mold spores out.
Also the perlite should not be "floating" that means you have too much water

Well help me figure out an experiment to see if it does.

What do you want an experiment to conclude ??

he is trying to prove to you that his PMP has no mold spores in it and there is no way for them to get in there using his method

Well if that's the case then consider it busted already becuase he will for a fact have mold spores in his FC

oh i know this.. i have been reading this thread since you guys started lol it has been amusing to say the least. maybe he can have a flowhood running 24/7 then have his air pump pumping air from the flowy!

Have you even seen spores land on the tops of your tallest mushrooms before ?? Its quite odd.
It happens do to air currents proving that even in a PMP the pump will not create enough negative force to push spores up and out

That looks nice man, good job! In case you're wondering why there's those "racing stripes" on the stem, as well as why those pins are looking weird, it's a contamination called verticillium. Nothing to worry about, but those things are likely going to start looking pretty strange soon.

Thanks
Do you know any more specific details about the contamination?

Yours is a mild case, but it can get pretty gnarly looking.
"those knarley looking ones (veils peeled down the stem, stripes, funky stems) have "Verticilium" (a harmless bacteria that only affects the mushroom) and is completely fine to eat, just makes 'em look a bit weird"
