movies and their drugs.

Ok, so lots of people have done threads for tripping movies, smokin' up movies, rolling movies, etc. After some experiments involving Lain and The Wall, it became clearer that some movies just were closely attuned to certain substances. I don't necessarily mean they were made about substances (such as Human Traffic and MDMA) or are outright great for that substance/were created for watching while on that substance (such as Emergency Broadcast Network and LSD) --- But what just connects? The Wall didn't work that great for K, although it certainly meshed with it...it just didn't meet at the right frequencies for me. However, Lain went with Ketamine like butter went with monkeys.
I've not watched the Matrix on anything yet, but it seems disassociative, at least. Alice in Wonderland, Fear and Loathing, etc. are obvious examples, in my mind, for acid.
Of course, much of this is enormously subjective. So...thoughts?

The wall is definatley for acid I feel
Never saw lain. Never heard of it actually
Alice in wonderland and such, would be good for acid or shrooms I think. I've never watched alice in wonderland on acid, but I saw it on mush and I think it was just amazing.
But the one that tops them all, I just can't get it out of my head....watching lord of the rings on acid. Theres lots of little things. Hard to explain. Was very very messed up watchign that on acid.

Sorry guys but what is the point in watching a movie when you're tripping??? When I'm on one the tv just turns into an ugly waste of time with virtually NO ability with which to entertain me. There's just too much going on when the mushies/acid/k takes a hold.
Really, how the fuck do you watch a film after snorting a load of ket???!
Comke on everyone, just turn it the fuck off and stare at the carpet.

I don't like to watch movies while tripping either. My brain has enough information to deal with. It already has to deal with itself, the surrounding invironment, and my brother's cat making me think it's god. I do enjoy movies when stoned though. I love monty python's flying circus, but I hated the holy grail. My favoritse stoned movies are Half Baked, Super Troopers, Mall Rats, Van Wilder, Office Space, Dirty Work, Go, Blow, Trainspotting, Requiem for a Dream, and last but not least......The Rocky Horror Picture Show! That last one might actually be really cool while tripping. I'll give it a try and let ya know.

about Alice in Wonderland, did you see the old version that was made in 51' or the newer version 99', which do you recommend for shrooms?

Definetly the old one man. It plays with your head more. More colours, cool animation, etc. It's a must if your into watching movies.
There is times I can't watch movies either. Like, after doing 4 hits of decent acid, me and my friend came home and went in my room. I have satellite, so I turned on the tv...and lord of the rings was JUST starting. Now, I have to admit, I couldn't sit there and watch the whole thing. I just couldn't. Me and my friend were talking to much, and there was just TO much going on around me. There wasn't one thing that wasn't twisting, bending, morphing together, melting, etc. But it was a good background. And when I turned my attention to it for 5-10 minutes...WHOA!!!!
geokills has it right.....I can't wait to get all 3 on dvd....I'm going to eat some acid and watch them. I probably won't have my eyes glued to the tv every minute, but it will still be very cool. I WAS planning on seeing the second one in theatres....but I'm still sorting out some personal problems. Maybe I'll get to see the third one in theatres on acid

THe point is to see how it interacts with your mind, interpreting the movie substance through the psychoactive substance. I absolutely cannot comprehend how watching the carpet is supposed to be inherently a better experience. Going for a variety of experiences is key, IMO.
It works like this: -Do K. -Watch film.
That's how.

Yeah I agree totally
But everyone is always going to have different opinions on whats 'better' or what's a waste, when tripping.
Like you say, people should try to have different experiences.
It's not like I watch movies everytime I trip. But at times, it can be VERY enjoyable. Sitting alone in the dark with your thoughts can also be very enjoyable. There is lots to experience.
So people, don't knock watching movies. It can be quite the experience.

I've watched Nightmare Before Christmas and Clockwork Orange on a light acid trip but it was perty fucked up.
Hrmmm... I know ive seen more but Im having trouble recalling.
I remember an acid trip that lasted ALL day and into the night. Before I had to go to nightschool I watched The Simpsons and it looked really friggin weird.. for some reason they all only had 1 eyeball it seemed.
Then I had to go to nightschool and I was STILL tripping, this was like my 10th hour or something. But we had to watch this documentary on sexual discrimination, and the people on it looked like their faces were falling apart.
I think the Matrix screams acid. 'take the red pill, look at a mirror, it starts to turn into jelly, then you realize the mental prison you've been living in all your life, then you have to go back inside that prison and overcome your fears'
I always relate epic movies to like an internal mental struggle. Either that or to the state of the world we're in now and it always seems to match up in a way.

I agree with whoever said that The Wall seems to me more of an acid movie and alice in wonderland is more of a shrooms movie.
But, to each his own, both of them are good while tripping I think.
also, for me to watch TV while tripping I have to hit it at the right time to have any effects, otherwise it seems like a waste to me.

yeah.
If you put the wall on, in a room where a bunch of people are on acid, everyone shuts up and takes notice. I love that movie. That's why I had to go and buy the dvd
Woodstock is a good one for a bunch of friends sitting around, smoking some pot and doing some drinking. Also another great movie. That's why I had to get that dvd too
Yellow Submarine is next. I'd also like to get alice in wonderland on dvd and fantasia on dvd

Apocalypse Now is the best movie to watch on acid or shrooms, IMO. I tripped acid my first time watching it. I found the scenery beautifully intense on a 4g shroom dose.
A Clockwork Orange is a great movie to watch when you are on a medium-high dose of DXM

Mutant aliens is a mad movie to see when tripping. It is an animated movie and I think it is made for trippers. Me and my partner accidentally caught it on tv when we were tripping and my stomach muscles and jaw were aching by the end from laughing. It is out on video in America already but not in Australia. We are downloading it from edonkey at the moment.
It's pretty easy to download yellow submarine from kazaa - kazaa is worthwhile for downloading whole albums full of music, also.
I've heard Dougal and the Blue Cat is a good tripping movie. Its from the old magic roundabout series. The only place I've found that available though is for sale on the internet.

Once while on some really good shrooms, i turned the T.V on Nickeloden GAS(games and sports). It shows nothing but nickeloden gameshows and what not. Anyway.. you wanna see something crazy? Watch an old episode of double dare while tripping. When the familes have to compete at those crazy games.. and the camera is moving really fast.. and mark summers seems like he is just speaking gibberish really fast in that "game show host" voice .. and you see these families getting slimed and shit and it makes NO sense.. it's insane. I also saw an episode of the gameshow with the talking rock.. hahahaha.. hmmmm.. what else... Dragon ball Z on acid.... or the stuff they show on cartoon network late at night.. real abstract canadian animations.. awesome.... well.. thats my 2 cents.. cheers! and happing shrooming!

My previous post re mutant aliens got deleted along with all my other posts due to an admin error. recap: funniest animated movie I've ever seen tripping - caught it accidentally on tv one night. I said in my prev. post you could get it on edonkey but that was wrong - it is emule. We are just finishing downloading a copy now. You can get yellow submarine from kazaa +download lots of music from kazaa too.

i agree. the idiot box has always been the biggest waste of time whenever it has palyed arole in any experiences i have had. talk, go outside, do anything but watch that box. i mean, i guess for minor trips, really minor, somehting might be ok, but in the end, it still seems like a waste f real drugs. pot, however, can be a fine video aid.
