Young tripping.

How young were you when you first tripped? How did it affect you?
Did it really confuse you, or do you feel it gave you alot of positive insight?

Would you recomend it for other youths if you think they are ready? Do you think it would help them?

I was 19 when I first tripped and it gave me more of an open personality. Everything made more sense after the trip, and it gave me enormous insights. I feel that if someone respects the experience enough, there should be no set age on tripping, but it should be within limits. Any type of person with any type of personality (except people w/ mental conditions) should be able to trip freely, as it may help relieve stress and give an insight.

My first trip was when I was 19. It opened up doors of perception for me somewhat, but it still wasn't as mindblowing as my first roll.

When i was 13. I didn't confuse me at all, it got me interested in the whole scene and made me want to learn as much as possible about the field of mycology as a whole. unfortunately i didn't get motivated enough until i was 16 when i really began to look into it.

I was 19.

It was the most incredable experience I have had. I felt 100% whole while on shrooms that night. I was listening to the live version of 3rd eye (tool), and the Tim Leary speach intro blew my mind just as much as the song did. I got answers to all my questions and I relized that I had found the path to truth. I found out  who   just as much as what at I really was.

Best $25 Ive ever spent, and I don't think I can ever beat that record.  :wink:

When I was 15 I tried MDMA. When I was 16 I tried LSD and psilocybe mushrooms.

The way it worked out was that MDMA made my feelings aware, LSD made my mind aware, and mushrooms made my spirit aware.

I would recommend that you listen to what your intuition tells you to do. Each person is different, so don't restrict your actions based on age or laws, those are just boundaries that were made to be broken by those who do not need them.

19. I experienced the mushroom at exactly the right point in my life to integrate what I learned as well as have the maturity to take it for what it is and not go overboard. I can imagine if I tried it in high school I could have easily gone down a dark road. I tripped at the same time as I was developing a spiritual framework of my place in the world, and the two complimented each other wonderfully.

Above all else, one must be mature and ready. Nobody can tell you this but yourself. I know 16 year olds who are ready and 40 year olds who are not. If you truly believe you are ready, most likely you are.

I'm not sure how old I was when I started "tripping," really.

When my friends and I were around 8 years old -maybe younger, but couldn't be any older- we started smoking ourselves into nicotine stupors. We were also chewing tobacco, which came in especially handy at school. This behavior continued off and on until high school when I abandoned tobacco usage.

For some reason, we were also experimenting with many herbs and things that grew around the wilderness, which was probably pretty damn dangerous. We were always interested in mushrooms, for as long as I can remember, and though we messed around with them a lot, and tried to study them, we knew that we would die if we fucked up. We were very young at the time.

We would also prepare and smoke different things in hollow reeds. (We liked nature.) I doubt any of it was actually psycho-active, but we developed our own rituals and whatnot, though they were pretty primitive and indulgent--we apparently enjoyed destroying our tiny lungs. Unfortunately, we had to figure it all out for ourselves, and we got pretty much nowhere.

When we were still no more than 10 years old, we likely would've been into all kinds of "hallucinogens," if only we weren't being raised on the Canadian prairie. A best friend was heavily into "Indian" culture, among other things, and he informed us of the spirit plants we were missing out on. (Which is why we tried to discover our own, perhaps.) We probably would've grown our own marijuana, mushrooms, cacti, etc, if we'd only had the resources. Fuck, if we had the internet back then, we just might've been all over this stuff (interesting, though slightly frightening thought). Actually, we probably would've been just like the obese zombie children of today. In fact, the advent of the NES pretty much killed all of our adventures in anything. Instead of fishing in real life, we began to play Black Bass. Fuck.

This is why so many are starving, btw. They've forgotten how to live, just as I did. I've been starting to remember, though.

About tripping ... I can't remember when I started. I'm on 450 mg of DXM right now.

We must keep these channels open, keep what remains of the knowledge alive in this society. We have a lot of responsibility here, so don't go killing yourselves on Dramamine or something. :grin:

Those ages are reliable, btw. Everything changed when I was ten. 

Whether I'm "fucked up" or not, you can judge for yourselves.

I was 16 when i tried mushrooms and 17 when I tried LSD.
I'm 19 now.

I feel like they saved me from not really knowing myself. I think I would still be a very confused, insecure, and self-conscious person today if I hadn't tripped years ago and really heard my mind speak to me.

Shrooms actually did nothing for me when I was 16 except give me some 'cool visuals man'
but acid... acid was like finding this golden temple of divinity, when I had been lost in a dark jungle for years and years. It gave me a spiritual jump-start. I did start to turn to it to escape from reality for awhile. I guess that shit happens.

I see highschool kids (just a couple years younger than me) and they just seem so bored with their lives. Like they don't take themselves seriously. I can't help but feel like hallucinogens would really help some of them.

I remember how I felt before I tripped. Just like a statistic pretty much. Just doing all these same things every day and not questioning what anything meant to me. A gear in some machine. Not realizing I was a human being and what I was capable of.

I am very aware of the possible negative side effects to tripping and I think all of it can be overcome with some care and communication. If I had had an responsible and experienced tripper giving me advice I think it would have saved me alot of anguish.

i tried MDMA and LSD when i was 16. I first ate shrooms when i was 18. The psychedelics gave me a lot of good things.

I was 17 years old when I came across this site. I was mesmorized by tripping and mushrooms. I read countless trip reports and I couldn't wait for my first trip. Now at this time I never smoked pot in my life and rarely drank, none of my friends had any interest in psychedelics. It wasn't easy but eventually found a kid who tripped before and told me we could get some acid adn trip together, this dude later became one of my best friends. I remember the first time I saw 2 hits of acid in a plastic baggy, my mind was racing, it was a great moment when I put one of those suckers under my tongue... its been 3 years of tripping and mind expansion ever since. Shrooms and acid set my mind at ease when i thought i was the only one who didnt think like everyone else. It was an outlet for me to explore my true self and the world around me. All the crazyness that drove me mad before i used mushrooms turned into my own little paradise where i enjoyed every moment.

Yea dude thats how I felt too. I realized how precious my 'weird' thoughts were. How they were ME. I remember crying on the floor on my first acid trip when this revelation hit me. It was overwhelmingly beautiful.

I cried on my 1st shroom trip.

I also cried duing various acid trips before mushrooms. I knew that acid was trying to tell me something.

I first tripped on mush when I was 15. I ate about 4 grams and fuck I didn't kno what was comin to me! I got suckd out of the car I was in and thought I was surrounded by nothing but black. Scary experiance, but at least I learned mushrooms can be very powerfull.
