from birth to pins

about how long should it take after you birth your cake untill u get pins? my cakes have been birthed for alittle more than 2weeks and they have not pinned yet. im using perlite as hummidification, there are water droplets on the walls, i fan 3-4times daily and give it about 15mitnutes of light. any help?

Sometimes it may take awhile. Try giving them some more light. What's your temperature?

did you dunk your cakes before birthing? ive found with dunking, pins will usually from 2-3 days later under proper conditions. it may take a little longer for a first pin set.

Giving it about an hour or two of light a day, it took mine about 3 weeks before I saw pins.

dont u normally only dunk after the first flush? i have 2 cakes actually one which i cold shocked..the temp is about 74

Dunk it when you want. You dont have to dunk it after first flush.

If they start to pin invetro, plan on harvesting in 5-7 days. If you just pop them out of the jars when you think they are 100% it can take weeks. Dunking or injecting water can help if the cakes are dry. Dry cakes don't want to fruit. Patience is key, and once you get a flush or two under your belt it's easyer to relax.
