Treasure Coast too long too.. and lights
    #1233888 - 01/20/03 12:17 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

My cat's boyfriends mouse has a problem:

Can we start up this lighting question again. She a found 12 cakes of Treasure Coast 50/50 Cakes in a HEPA/Coolmist closet.
The mouse is using a 25 watt florescent grow light ($3.00 thrift store) and a 60w incandescent all going off/on every 2 hours for 20 minutes.

Strangeness, after 3 days got pins on 4 cakes, 5 dazes later found 1 shroom with a veil broken but the other cakes had not changed. 5 dazed latter (almost 2 weeks now) still have nothing happening, temp 72-75 humidity 75-90 . colonized in 23 days.

Your problem is not light but humidity. Cakes like it 95% or greater.

Was : HEPA 24/7, Coolmist and light 20min every 2 hours, humidity was good, temp might have been high at 75 to 80.

Here is was the mouse did and is doing (trying now):

- Dropped temp of closet for 16 hours to 65 (the best I could do without freezing the whole house).
- Dunking 4 cakes now
- Flipped the remaining 8 cakes removing the few shrooms that aborted at 1/2 size but look normal and 5 or 6 regular aborts.
- Trying out Drill tek on 4
- Increased light and coolmist to 1 hour on 1 hour off (looks like a cloud chamber when running 85-98 percent from my indicator).
- Temp 75 now can't do much about that
- Added small computer cooling fan just for internal cirrulation

P.S. The mouse had success a few months ago using the same strain/cake/casing tek but he used perlite and misting.

Using a digital timer now, sounds like the same one, have a big room so running it more. Will hope one of the things I did works, if not have B+ 1/3 colonized.
