Post-Rock Instrumental
    #12325481 - 04/03/10 07:24 PM (14 years, 16 days ago)

I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but lately (the past few months or so) I have been just absolutely hooked on Post-Rock Instrumental. I find it to be incredibly relaxing when stoned/ on any form of downer. Even shrooms are simply mindblowing when listening to bands like Explosions in the Sky, God is an Astronaut, This Will Destroy You, If These Trees Could Talk, etc...

Anyone else ever been in this phase? At least I think it's a phase, not sure if I'll ever come out of it :tongue2:

I love post-rock, but I have noticed that quite a few of the bands do sound pretty similar. As long as I don't over listen I don't think it'll ever lose its charm though :smile2:

Definitely my favorite tripping music out there.

I've had Red Sparowes downloaded for some time but have yet to give them a listen. I was also recommended Gifts from Enola, but have yet to listen to them either.  Have you heard of them?

I don't much care for godspeed or grails.

Godspeed takes to long to get to the point and Grails is just too many different things going on at once.

Also not much a fan of Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros.

He just listed like 30 up there.

Although I do agree it's crazy to not like explosions, godspeed, and sigur ros.

Sigur ros I simply can't stand. Explosions in the Sky is what got me into post-rock... songs like Greet Death, First Breath After Coma, Magic Hours, Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean, etc I think are simply phenomenal.

This Will Destroy You is my favorite sleep music though :smirk:
