Drug Propaganda.

I went to my cousins the other day to chill there for a bit and smoke some weed. I was hesitant to start smoking it with my 14 year old cousin watching. I knew he wouldn't call the cops or some ridiculous thing like that so I pulled out the weed. When I took it out he gave me such a look of shock. He proceeded to ask me if that was marijuana. I said yeah of course it is. He started treating me like some stranger and stopped talking to me for awhile. He asked me "Is that the reason your sniffling?". I had a horrible cold that day and was constantly sniffling. I then proceeded to tell him about weed and all the propaganda that is fed to people about it. I consider my cousin to be a rather bright kid but It just really made me sad that he was so shaken by the fact I smoke weed. We need to stop this propaganda that society is feeding this nation! We need to have factual information given to kids in school! I'm sick of all the bullshit!

Yeah I'm six years older than him and the fact that people drink constantly in front of their kids doesn't shock you is beyond me.

doesn't shock me, just as this doesn't..but i still think it's shitty
the kid's what, a highschool freshman? if that. i know alot of kids are starting to do shit alot earlier than that these days, but if he's not interested in drugs yet, why are you--as his much older cousin (and presumably somewhat of a role model)--trying to shove your own propaganda about the issue down his throat? let the kid discover drugs in his own sweet time, if he feels like it
14's still a pretty delicate age. body and mind are still developing and such. i know people like to think weed is totally harmless, but it can really fuck some people up...especially at such a young age. (for reference, i do smoke tons of weed myself. i'm not some anti-weed nut or anything, heh)
i think it's great that he'll have you there to guide him when and if he does start experimenting with drugs. i just don't think it's right to give him that first push, with such an age difference involved

14 is a strange age. Some of them are still children that are still affected by the propaganda and what their parents tell them, and others are the total opposite. My little sister is 14 and when she found marijuana in my drawer she asked what it was. My best friend's little brother is also 14, and last week we found a baggie of coke and a bunch of rolls under his bed. Go figure. I wonder what causes the difference.
It's a shame that marijuana isn't more widely accepted. If the media would just focus on the things that are truly bad, maybe they could gain some credibility and keep kids away from the things that really will do them harm.

When my older brother first got caught with weed I was around 14 as well. I disowned him for a couple days. I felt betrayed. The propaganda is real. In every health class I've ever been in weed was categorized with cocaine and heroine... and for a young kid who hasn't been in the world a lot this is some scary stuff. Give him some time.

I started smoking weed in 7th grade. Only smoked cigs one or twice because I dont see the point in them. But it really is ridiculous how bad the propaganda is. People still think that you can become addicted and die of cancer even with the modern technology we have to prove this shit wrong. Its so easy to access this data too via internet. It really makes me pissed and sad to see that the government is so easily brainwashing so many people still today. Most of all about Psychedelics that are harmless still are being attacked for killing people. If no one can stand up to this it will just get worse and worse as it has already. See you in a decade when we are all slaves. Peace

This really bothers me as well. Marijuana being lumped together with Cocaine and Heroine is a BAD IDEA. It only helps to get people addicted to harder drugs because they didn't know any difference in the first place (except for "bad mmmmkay?")
I have a younger sister that's 20. She's been fed all of this nonesense. And probably didn't even know what weed really was at all. So I try and slip her some real information here and there hoping that maybe she won't make the same mistakes I did... under the common misconception that all drugs are the same. They're all bad. And letting someone convince me to smoke some speed.
There's definitely a difference. And

Yea, the kids only 14. Let him stumble upon this stuff on his own. Your probably wrong to smoke it in front of him in the first place. High School and Junior High can be a bad time to be overly zealous about experimenting with shit. I remember all the r-tards blowing lines of Oxycontin off their desks.

I told him that you don't have to do it and that really no one has to. I'm not trying to shove my own form of propaganda down is throat I just want him to know the facts. That's what I want the people of this nation to know. Maybe then they would become in tune with reality.

I agree man. I'm sure you educated him properly. I had a coworker ask me what I thought about the gateway theory today. I launched into an impromptu diatribe about propaganda. I hope she listened to it all.

Yeah, I was very anti-weed until high school but I had No Problem with Alcohol and Xanax.
