Fungicide in dung
    #1231472 - 01/19/03 04:30 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Ok, I'm worried that the dung I got was made by animals fed fungicide treated grain.

Would this fungicide also prevent the growth of cobweb? I have had that grow, on dung that was left over after pasteurization.
Also, if dung is pasteurized properly, is cobweb mold still able to grow?

i doubt the fungicide would stop cobweb.

pasteurizing is no guarantee that you will not get cobweb.

Does anyone know if a cow that has been fed fungicide treated feed will have shroom killing manure?

That would be some killer shit! Not in a good way though

The answer is no. In addition, fungicides work on spores, not live mycelium. We don't use spores to inoculate manure. Cobweb mold is caused by too little air exchange, and is very easy to prevent. If you do get cobweb mold, just spray it down with 3% peroxide right out of the bottle.
