I use 20x100s, so, sure! Need screw on caps, though, for sterilizing.

Are they autoclavable? That's all that matters, if you're careful in storage...

Yeah, screw caps are the best for masters, but I've gotten away with regular caps plus perifilm for about a yr. with some of my lesser fav cultures.

Borosilicate lab glassware can be sterilized or autoclaved by dry heat or in a steam autoclave. Proper protocol for steam autoclaving of borosilicate glassware is 15-20 minutes at 100-120° C or 212-248f. Always leave closures off or loose during autoclaving. The real pressure ratings depend on the wall thickness of the piece and the temperature as well. Most standard lab glass products, at room temperature, can take pressure up to 25-30 PSI. Also, be sure there are no scratches in the glass, as they will weaken the piece, which could cause it to break under pressure. Some glass vessels have very little or NO pressure rating. Most flasks or beakers are 5-15 psi maximum
So what about the stoppers?

Well i already bought these, so if i can use them i would like to. I am a beginner so would I not put the stopper on all the way and then wrap with a gas permeable film of some kind, like cling wrap or parafilm?

If they seep anything it's not good. The alternative you mentioned is a good price, I'd go with those.

Throw away the stoppers and just cover the tubes with foil. After you inoculate them, punch a hole in the foil on the top and then wrap over it with parafilm. Make sure the parafilm covers the hole in the top of the foil and seals the edges against the glass. RR
