hey i've been lookin on the site tryin to find info on how can you tell when to harvest cubensis. It doesn't mention how tall the shrooms shud be. can someone help me out? how tall shud they be???

Most sail right before the vail breaks. Now that is when it is at optimum potency but if you want more weight then wait until caps are almost flat, but then potency won't be as high. Or atleast this is what people say. I usually harvest right before vail breaks. Also, if you want to print let that one that you are printing grow until the cap is almost flat this will make it easier to print from.

I havent been there myself, but i think you should harvest them when the caps start to curle upwards (just before loosing their spores).. rather then waiting for them to reach a certain size

The word is that it stops becoming more potent when the veil breaks so it would be as high but there would be more weight.

it doesn't matter how tall they are it depends on there life cycle as to when harvesting should take place. I believe most wait until the veil of a shroom tears or is about to and are satisfied with the potencity while others believe letting them grow on into full maturity is best for potency. no matter what you choose as your sign for harvesting the last thing it should be is height cause you could have a foot tall mushroom with veil not even formed and definatly not ready to harvest then on the other side of your cake you could have a 2 inch tall shroom spitting out spores ready to eat.

Oh and watch out for aborts.

Yeah I was meaning potency ratio to that of weight. I guess I should be more clear.

harvest as soon as you want they will grow back. i have noticed early harvest mean more mushrooms(smaller) and better potency
