Trip's not lasting long.

When ever I trip It doesn't sim to last more then two hours. Its a really hard come up, then just fades away. I take 4 grams with OJ when I trip, and I wait a month or more between trip? Any ideals on whats happening? Is it the OJ or some thing, oh there homegrown shrooms..

Well, I find the real meat of the trip can be over pretty quickly but once the visuals fade away I usually find myself full of energy and conversation for a few more hours. Sometimes tripping with a friend can help prolong it because you keep feeding off of eachother. So you could try that, or... you could just hook up some syrian rue AKA peganum harmala. Also, some trips are different from others so maybe next time you trip it'll last a lot longer.

Nope I don't take any med's. Last night I took 4 grams of a mix of PES HAWAIIAN and Allen on tripped really hard for 2 hours then it just stop dead as hell. I would trip with a friend , but don't have any.

Yeah, trip friends can be hard to come by sometimes. Over the last year or so I've cut my list down to 2 people I trip with. I feel like trying it with more people now though.

Yeah, but the bad thing is I don't know anybody at all. I never leave my house, only time I ever see anyone is when my ex wife and son come over.. She tripped with me once and she said she would never do it again...

i usually trip real hard for like 3-4 hours then spend the rest comming down so in total of about 6 hours for me

when i trip it usually takes 45 minutes for the shrooms to hit me. takes about 20 minutes for them to reach the peak and that lasts about 2 hours. Then i get hard burnout for 1 hour, then soft burnout for 2 hours, and for the rest of the day shits just different.

How often do you trip?

sounds like you're tripping to often, if so, cut back.  I had the same problem, and it was pissing me off when i saw that my buddies where supremely baked, and i was not :mad:  I was doing them wayyy to often, and that lead to bad trips....so i completly stop, and havnt ate mush for about 3 months...i cant weait till my next trip.

I trip about once a month or 2, even my 1st time it was like this... I've never triped more then 2 or 2:30 hours. I cant figure it out????

Try fasting for at least 12 hours, and also try not to drink anything for 12 hours too. When you injest the mushrooms take only the minumum amount of liquid needed to get them in your stomach, and don't drink and eat anything for a few hours after that.

yeah daussaulit has the right idea :smile:

Don't eat the whole day (maybe a small breakfast..).

Try 5 grams, then sit/lay in as dark and silent of an environment as possible, close your eyes, and remain like that :wink:

If you smoke pot, don't smoke any pot that day, until you start to come down, or if you want a very strong peak, smoke a bowl about an hour and a half after ingestion :smile:

Good luck, man - no rush - it can take a while to "catch on" to tripping how your brain prefers.

Actually I wash down my shrooms with grapefruit juice every time now. It may all be in my head, but ever since I started doing this my trips have had stronger visuals and less body load. Plus, it's delicious!

aaahhhhhhhh lol well yeah if you're taking an MAOI then that will definitely boost the trip :smile:

I wasn't aware that there were any "normal" juices that would naturally inhibit your MAO.

Graperfruit juice GREATLY inhibits the intestinal cytochrome P450 3A4. No, I dont know exactly what the hell that means.

Basically, something in the grapefruit juice changes the rate that the above enzyme in the intestine breaks down some chemicals. Since the chemicals arn't being broken down as quickly as normal it allows for more of that chemical to be absorbed into the body. This increases the amount of that chemical in the blood. If psilocybin and psilocin are affected by this then it may increase the intensity and/or length of the trip

I'm unsure of where or how exactly psilocybin and psilocin are absorbed into the body or if it is at all broken down in the intestine; but, Psilocybe Cubensis mushrooms contain less then 1% psilocybin/psilocin and with less then 10mg (of actuial psilocybin) being a medium dose I dont think that it would greatly affect a trip.

However, only one way to find out and there isnt a big risk factor so go for it, but play it cautious the first time. Drink a big, tall, cold glass of tasty grapefruit juice in the morning. Take half your normal dose (2g according to your above post) and wash it down with another glass.
