He definitely is trying to live up to his own hype. I applaud him for that.

That looks like it's a good idea all around. While I'm technically against expanding government on principle, I can see that this will have a tangible benefit in deficit reduction. And that's not even considering the reduction in payments and increase in lending to low-income students, both of which are good goals. When you look at those three benefits, it's pretty hard to be against this program because "more government is bad". Never thought I'd see the day when government expansion didn't make me frustrated/disappointed.
Seems like a win for Obama, good for him.

I wish there was somewhere I could go to see what changes affect me personally. I don't really follow all the changes Obama has put into effect, I didn't know any of this shit until just now.

i think this might be the best thing obama has done....everyone likes it except a few bankers of course.....this is estimated to save the US 70-80 billion a year.
as a student, you should see the interest rate on your loans go down, and there should be more money available to students in the general pool.
basically Obama cut wall street out of the student loan business, and all the fees etc etc that banks were making will now either A) go to students or B) remain in the treasury, thereby lowering the deficit in the longrun.

how is it going to save money? how is giving more money out going to save anyone money? wht the fuck are they talking about? All it is gonna do is impinge in the end. You guys are fucking blind. The take over of the educational money is gonna cost money and enslave to another incremental degree the population. Will have to higher more ineffective burrocrats to handle things that would and should have been left to efficiency motives.
keep eating that shit up you guys. Oh yeah, and tell me how the debt forgiveness program for those going to work for the government is going to save money.
fools.

Higher education is already scam, now you're letting the government in on it?
Even more importantly, you're taking loans. That's on the same page as taking a loan from a bookie.
