well i got a little ahead of myself and pastuerized some bulk substrate . Then i read that you should use it right away :frown: Well i smoked one and had a bright idea I can freeze it can't I then thaw it out to use when I need it. Is this possible?

I would put my money on it working. The fridge would also work for shorter periods of time.

Donno if freezing would work or not, I have never tried it. The only problem I see is if the freeze kills off the good microbs left in the substrate. I have left a pillowcase of pastuerized dung hanging in the garage for over a week before using and had no problems with it. I only have the single sample so I don't know if I was just lucky or if quick use doesn't really matter that much.

Just another spore in the wind.

The FAQ says it should lst for 3 days or so. I'd use the fridge and not the freezer. Or, just leave it in an ice chest, and microwave small batches in the Glad (brand) food storage conatiners. You can 'reuse' it (nuke it)up to 2 weeks later.
